The directx sdk for Visual C is huge, is there a different one (smaller!) for devc++?

It's part of mingw which DevC++ uses for all the Windows API.  But it's broken and badly out of date.  You can just about build my sample with it, but forget using any of the D3DX utilities or any new stuff.
