Sync stuff to music
« on: February 21, 2010 »

Hey.
I am using DarkBasic Pro and wonder how to make like a ball bounce in time to music and it's bpm and display a realtime waveform of the music?

I think I need to use bass.dll? but I haven't found any tutorial or example of how to use that...

Regards PowerTrace

Hello there, I havent used DB pro in a long while.

Do you know, has anybody on the dark basic / db pro forums made any wrappers. bass lib?

If it can import dlls, and use ptrs then it will make syncing to a specific sample or instrument a lot easier. otherwize you may be stuck with having to rely on channel volumes, which is ok, but not what I think would suit you best.

Have a look at the Blitz Max topic that Hotshot requested about using bass, as the syntax shouldn't be too much different, and it may help.

please let us know how you get on, or if it's releveant at all.

Take a look a this thread, it might help you setting it up:

There is some example here also:

After you got it working the next step is to learn how to synch gfx and sound.
