Choosing is very difficult, due to the large number of high quality entries. I'd find it difficult to predict a winner, but I hope it's one of the ones I've voted for.

Is it cool to comment on the results or is that considered bad form?

The results have been decided democratically by everyone who voted, if the comment is "XYZ" should have won then that would not be cool because the result is voted by everyone and it will only make the winner feel bad about winning, if the comments are positive then that would be cool.

Anyway, we have a tie breaker for first place, Colour Paint and Hippotro got an equal amount of votes for first place so I will set up a new poll this evening to decide who gets first and who gets second! Jim and Kez get third place with Lomedux though!

Congratulations on everyone who entered, they were all great :)
Karma and prizes will all be awarded when the vote-off is complete.

Fantastic entries and i could honestly not split the top 3 so choosing a winner is going to be really really hard.I think i'll watch them again and see if that helps but i doubt it.Well done everybody

.....if the comments are positive then that would be cool.
For the record... I didnt see a poor entry only the occasional poor point score.
I just wanted to say that a lot of entries got relatively low results... and they really deserved more. before any one says it.... lol Im not including me, im trying to be impartial and aloof.

For example... Shockie you only got 1 point for your demo and that was vastly superior to my entries.. Ive seen the source.(thx for that btw. very interesting. ;) )
I dunno maybe the number of votes to cast could be set depending on the number of entries or summat... just spitballing.

Anyways my first outing in demoland was fun and exciting.
Thank you all for that.

It is not always the most technically advanced production that wins these challenges though. It often has a lot to do with how people think that the challenge was met, and what they put into it. There are a lot of opinions about how a challenge should have been done, which the voting also shows since they were so spread out.

Without knowing for sure, it is certainly possible that Shockwaves entry was more advanced than some of the other entries that got higher number of votes. But since something like this is so subjective and entirely up to how people have understood the rules of the challenge and most of us are likely to vote mainly based on purely visual appeal, you could easily create the most advanced piece of code ever seen, and still not win. That is one of the good things about these challenges, and it is one of the things that helps motivating those that do not feel they are as skilled to still produce something.

This challenge sure got a high number of participants, and that alone is really great. We can only hope that this is inspiration to those of us who are not as active to get back to the IDEs and start coding and producing again. It has certainly been a joy for me to watch all those productions and I think that everyone should give themselves a pad on the back for a job well done.

For me, it's all about the fun of it all. being ranked as a favourite is an added bonus.

To be honest I was not disappointed at getting one vote, it was very quickly done and I  nearly always enter the challenges (not to win), but just because I want to support them and I also enjoy spending a few hours on them here and there.

And the other thing is that I think that people here use their heads when voting, I am more likely to vote for someone who has pushed themselves and achieved something that I know they found difficult, I think there are other people here that do that too :)

Anyway, voting is a very personal thing and these challenges are always really good natured and a pleasure to invigilate (unless I mess up the rules and have to make late changes which doesn't happen too often!).
