Hi, I have been feeling really mean about the links policy of the board. I have been strict on external links for a few reasons, I'd like to explain why.
First of all there were a few problems with spammage on the other board, people would post links to get rich quick schemes etc, I didn't want that.
Secondly, there was a tendency by some people (who haven't registered here) to try and trick people into visiting other sites. There was no problem with the link as long as it was honest.
Thirdly I didn't want people joining up and just posting a link to their site without actually contributing anything to the board.
I also had a moral dilemma with this because this board is in it's infancy and needs all the members it can get, therefore I know that I for one will be actively promoting this board in other communities so it would make me a hypocrite.
IMPORTANT:
This forum is here so that you can post your own links to sites of interest to the rest of the community.
Any links you post must be related to code or humour, irrelevant links will be removed.
Please do not link to any warez or otherwise dodgy stuff. We take no responsibility for the content of any sites that are linked to here.
You can also have a link to your own site in your signature.
We don't want to read about any scams or get rich quick schemes of any sort.
If you think a link is innapropriate, please use the report to moderator function and we'll check it out. If the link is not useful it will be removed.
The sort of things that are not coding sites that are acceptable are things like gfx archives and mod archives etc.
I hope that everyone will use this forum to the benefit of the community.
Thanks.

A pretty glaring omission from these links rules, my apologies :P
When you post a link, don't just post the url, please take the time to add a sentence or two (don't be shy!) about the content of the site. Thanks.
