This is nice;
http://www.intro-inferno.com/
-
Nice site, looks like some sort of pouet, for demo/intro review.
And we have some of our prods added to it !
-
It's funny that.. I typed in Dark bit factory in google to see whethere the messageboard had moved up the rankings and that's how I found the site. It is kind of like pouet but it seems well cool.
-
Pretty cool, never knew about that one.
-
I like the site, I can't work out how to upload prods onto it though.
-
Hello all and thanks for your nice comments! :)
A new and updated version of the site is under construction (matter of days to be online) and yes you'll be able to submit your productions directly :) (new sections might open at the same time such as atari)
I can't wait for you to upload yours as I liked the last two, especially when I saw it wasn't coded in those "usual" language (I can't code in any of them anyway...)
Keep it up!
-
:hi: Druid, and cheers for the heads up and what a cool site. Equally so, on joining us.
All the best,
Clyde.
-
Welcome to the DBF/GVY board Druid. I'll be looking forward to checking your new site out soon then :)
I'll definately be uploading everything new to intro inferno.
-
Thanks again hehe...
I can't take all those flowers without mentionning musashi9: he made all the flash logon screens you can see when you're not registered/logged.
He's the one behind http://www.flashtro.com/: amiga cracktro done in flash...impressive! Also Amiga source code is available there
-
Been there loved it. Great stuff Druid and Musashi9
-
Yip, Flashtro is one of my favourite sites, we have the link to it here http://dbfinteractive.com/index.php?topic=180.0, in fact I think musashi joined here but hasn't posted yet :)
-
Hello, it's me again :D
Intro-inferno has been updated today with its new design. Vote, comment and receive points. The submission page has been delayed.
Enough blabla, can't wait to see you there ;p
-
Here Druid, I've made this topic sticky for a couple of weeks and thank you for the link too!
The new site is really cool, if you have not visited before, please register for it and support this excellent work. I even prefer it to pouet as intros are my favourite passion and I don't need to wade through loads of stuff that doesn't interest me just to find intros :)

That looks totally wicked mate; had to check it was the same place as you've done enormous work to it. Grand stuff indeed.
Cheers,
Clyde.
-
thanks a lot for your comments and visits!
-
btw, I'm still looking for logos..so, don't hesitate ;)
-
I'll see what I can conjur up for ya dude. What an amazing place you've got.
-
I could try... :) You probably wouldn't like it though!
-
Here you are Druid, don't say I didn't warn you!!
http://dbfinteractive.com/index.php?topic=495.0
-
every submission is welcome :) and honnestly it's not bad at all...I know people saying they're gfxer and not being able to do it :)
it'll be added tonight, 50 pts for it! :p
thanks!
-
Cheers Druid :) It will be the only logo there so far that has been generated by code! (I used my fire routine to draw it).
-
Cool, thanks Druid! I am happy to be drunk and in the top 10 users now :) I feel a little guilty about using a logo generated in code though (even if the template for the fire was a bmp!)
-
Cool 8)  I'm one of the uploaders !!!
Many thanks Druid :)
-
No problem, it was not a difficult choice: from the 10 selected uploaders, 3 are coming from this forum. This is a serious place with "serious" people :)
The selected uploaders won't need an admin approval to make files available. It won't be the same for the other users in the future..i'll explain better when its online.
btw, every upload give you 10pts..that's not much but at least ot creates some competition and people willing to hit the top 10 users know how to do it now :p
File must be zip or rar, max size is 800000ko. Screenshot is max 20000ko, in jpg only.
-
Hehe Nice one Druid :) I'm looking forward to uploading some stuff if that's ok? :)
-
of course :p
-
No worries dude, it's exceptionally cool and welldone on it's creation and fatherhood :)
Cheers and all the very best,
Clyde.
-
I think thats 4 from this forum now :-) Huge applause for the enormous work on this site and not just for Druid but for the team doing massive uploads.
-
Currently the site has categories for .: amiga : atari : c64 : win32 :. If someone has influence could they request a Mac Os X category also please. I'd love to start using the site but all my productions are Mac Os X only so no point in using the site at present :(
-
enough influence....hmmm, like the site owner? :)
If you want to support this section, if your prods are smaller than 1mb...i'm ok. Pm me and we'll sort something out!
-
Two new features appeared on II tonight: personal messaging and upload for all registered users....
If you have an account on II, don't hesitate to upload your own productions or the production you like...it'll be discussed over there, you'll get comments and ...points.
Cheers,
druid
-
2 big steps :) Nice on Druid.
-
Hello Guys!
It has been a while since I spammed here about II :)
As I do respect the growing communauty here, I thought it would be a great idea to have some open "alpha version" of II 3.0 open..and spread the link only here....
So, here is the "deal": browse it, I leave it open for all people, for one week. Send me feedback and if it's possible to have your comments taken into account (minor and realistic changes ;p) , you should see them the next time the alpha version is opened...
Here is the link, let's keep it private for now, ok?

Cheers,
druid

It is looking really nice Druid, one thing that could be done is that the logo could be made clickable to take you back to the news page?
-
indeed, it's planned.....it's just my lazy ass did not add the logo script yet ;)
-
@druid:
the new design looks good. but compared to the old design - I personally
prefer the old design with the dark blue colors ( the light blue reminds me
too much on pouet ). the new logo definately rocks!!!
however, I really like the flexible middle content row - that changes its
seize in relation to your display ( size of browser / resolution ). that's very
good imho.
furthermore, the new design doesnt offer a login form so far. I really liked
the flash form in the original version.
just my 2 cts.
-
You'll have the flash logon back, don't worry...I can even say without telling too much you might have more flash stuff coming...
It's an alpha version and really unfinished.
About the colors, i agree and desagree at the same time: it's blue like pouet..but well, personnaly it does not remind me pouet because of the colors...maybe more because of the content ;)
Now, as it's all based on CSS, it could be changed within a few minutes for the whole site.
Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate! It helps me a lot!
-
Nice one Druid dude, looks neat. And I Love the new way of downloading a production; miles better then before.
A couple of ideas you might like to consider.
Would it be possible for people to customize the colours in their profile, or perhaps have themes for people to choose.
I think you should limit the amount of stuff on screen, especially with regards to the news stuff, so you don't have alot of bits to scroll through.
Also thanks for letting us see the Beta.
-
Now that's a damn good idea, I like that. Maybe a couple of selectable themes, even if it is only colour changes, that would keep people happy who didn't like the pouet style colours.
Also Clyde is right about the news items, there are a lot on one page, perhaps it could work differently, for instance, display the latest 5 items that have been posted in and in addition to that, always display the last posted news item first, you could. That way perhaps more news posts can be preserved.. It might encourage more posting.
For instance;
Item 1
This is the latest news item
Item 2
Blah
Item 3
Blah
Item 4
Blah
Item 5
Blah
Page;
<< [1] 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 >>
Could look like that?
-
Are there really more items in the new alpha ??? For me it looks like the
amount of infoboxes are nearly the same as in the original version !?
Just the fact that the middle content box grows with the size of the
browser window has changed. So, there are more letters in one column
which could make it a bit confusing / overpacked for the user.
Furthermore, the contrast between the colour of the letters and the
background has changed. In the alpha version there is a light blue front-
color on a middle blue background whereas in the original version there
is a nearly white front-color on a dark blue background. This also could
implicitly confuse the user a bit ...
-
Thanks for your feedback :)
News item: it's the same amount of news, just the font is bigger (as there were complains about the font being small and difficult to read). Now, I can reduce the amount of news, no worries. The naviagation between "pages" of news was in fact available in the very first version of II...I'll put it back. So, adding that script and reducing the amount of news is a solution...but what about limiting the lenght of the news itself? if teh news is too long, a "more (...)" will be displayed. It will also reduce the lenght of the news panel on main page..a combination of 3? I go for it
The themes: of course! the integration of different color schemes is planned since day one...BUT I'll need more logos to make it available...so, yes...but not before a while :)
-
Yeah sounds fab about the news additions dude, nice one.
-
I personally prefer the (...) expand/collapse option it beats (<< [1] 2 3 ... 7 8 9 >>)
since no one wants to go through too many pages of content when the same news can be displayed in brief allowing anyone to get more info if they want. I think the banner
[news : downloads : links : parties : search : login : register]
with links to the sites features should use a bigger font unless this messes up things for other sections
-
Thanks a lot guys for the feedbacks, ideas and comments. The alpha site is not open anymore.
You'll be warned here when the beta test will come :)
-
Just an idea mind
What might be a good thing to include is the ability to not be able to give a rating unless a comment is posted / also make it so that the Author of the release can not vote for his own stuff. As on some sites in the past that I used to belong, people would abuse the rating system to bump up friends releases.
Looking forward to the next installment,
Cheers and all the very best,
Clyde

Clyde: the idea of forcing people to comment in order to vote won't make it I'm afraid as it's useless to have people entering useless comments to vote. This will make the comment table increase for nothing, this could have an impact with time. In the other hand, it's now possible to list all the voters (but votes are not displayed...maybe i'll sort the voters by rating and not name....that could be an idea)
More to follow...soooooon ;)
