Title: JAVACOMP Pie Rats of the Carribbean: Dead Rat's Pie
Post by: combatking0 on August 30, 2007
I know it's bad practise to send in an entry before it is complete, but you have got to see the "3D" effect when a pie is launched!

It has been tested under MSIE 6 and 7 and FireFox. They keyboard control of the second boat doesn't work under FireFox, but I'll have that fixed for tomorrow morning.

The game (when finished) will require you to shoot pies at enemy boats.
At the moment, the enemy boats don't appear and pie ammo is limitless.
I'll change the cannon control interface as well before I'm done.

--Edit--
I have now updated the downloadable file. Have fun!

Yeah. Nice idea. Maybe it would be cool to use sliders instead of
input boxes. But looks like an addictive game-play.

Oddly enough, the whole thing works under Safari on Mac OSX.

Expect to see the completed game tomorrow.

Nice preview, Sliders would make it more usable :)

Well, I wasn't quite able to perfect the slider bars, so you'll have to make do with clicking on the bars - this will put the marker on wherever you click on the bar.

Aiming is a b***c, especially when you have 8 enemy pie boats heading your way.

The 3D simulation is improved, with the pie going almost strait up if you put the elevation on maximum.

I'll reveal a game-play tip for making this version easier to play - using it, I got a score of over 300 and remaining ammo of just over 160.

You might want to have a second person control the fishing pie as well - aiming and trying to catch pastry crates really is pushing it for me!
