Did anyone ever find a method to ( easily ) transfer Yabasic projects from the PS2 to PC ( and vice versa )?

You can read Yabasic files from PS2 memory card with PS2 Linux Kit.  The file has a checksum which needs to be removed in a text editor to make the code is usable in an emulator.  You can write files back to PS2 memory card with yabwrite http://softagalleria.net/yabwrite.php

The process is fairly easy but getting PS2 Linux kit may be a challenge.  Mine broke down years ago.  Might have the dvd lying around somewhere...

i am going to use the same game "engine" for a few other games and demos as well.  would love to fix it so it would work on ff and chrome.

My entry for the weather competition: http://demo.tuliruusu.net/electrostatic/
Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNyqD18DBO8
Source code: http://demo.tuliruusu.net/electrostatic/electrostatic.zip

You should be able to run the demo locally by unpacking the zip file and opening the file index.html in a web browser.

Has anybody played Proteus?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWs_RKXkyu0

It is a strange little game with lots of weather effects, if anybody needs ideas for the comp :)

Yes they have, in those days one couldn't even draw a triangle in Javascript, let along gouard-shaded one :)

Hello everyone!  Just got back to check out that new weather competetion and say hi to you all!  See few familiar names from that old yabasic forum and lots of new faces.  How are things here?

I have been experimenting with html5 and making small html/javascript games lately.

If I get a title screen for the RTS, would I be able to use this???

You are welcome to use the vtext module in your games, no need to ask my permission.  I have tried to encapsulate code, data and documentation in to a small package so that the vector font could be easily added to new programs.

I used a vector font in my Freecell game (http://softagalleria.net/freecell/index.en.html) a few years ago.  Below is an updated version of this font to be used for introductionary screens, game menus and game over texts.  Feel free to use the font in your games/demos.

It would certainly complicate things, especially AI, but have you thought of terrain?  Say, you could add mountains or seas to restrict the movement of land units.

Nino: thanks, I am the very same toni from the old forums.  Been visiting this forum rarely nowadays.

This is an interesting project!  I have tried to create a turn-based strategy game myself, but didn't really see how to make AI work so I gave up.

Could you tell us more on what features you plan to add?

Thanks Jim & Shockwave!  I am happy to see that this forum of yours has revived some interest in yabasic.

Excellent work!  The game is easy to learn and yet exciting to play.  I was especially thrilled by the sudden death mode :)
