General chat / Re: Who loves Blitz3D?
« on: March 23, 2011 »
I purchased and played with Blitz2D too, when the first version released for the PC. Before this, i tried out DarkBasic but i dont really liked it. Next i purchased the first version of Blitz3D which was really powerfull at that time! I started on a own small 3D engine with a friend but before we finished our engine, we moved over to PB PC and our project died.

So Blitz3D is a nice language, the only bad point is that there are no ( ) for commands like Color... As far as i remember you have to trype:

Code: [Select]
Color 255,255,255     << not really my style but as long as it works, its ok :D

instead

Color( 255, 255, 255)    << i like this much more

@rainstorm:
Dont work on Win7! Afaik retrieving the adress of kernel32.dll dont work under Windows7! For Windows 7 it will give back the adresss of the KernelBase.dll - maybe this helps you to fix your framework for Windows7.

[Edited - added:
I am sure this is something for you:

Sorry, i know i dont have the best eyes and even having more problems with my eyes last time due fact of some health problems. But i dont really see a difference to my rendered font here and i can read the text without any problems. So i am a bit wondered if my eyes are now really so bad?

General chat / C64 Fastfingers Synth

Quote
IN 1984 Dan was finished authoring music sequencing software called "FASTFINGERS" which was reviewed in the May 1986 "Computer Shopper" 6 years later, in 1991, Compute Magazine wrote "Fastfingers was written before the MIDI explosion, yet Laskowski programmed it for 256 sounds and even coaxed an extra suboctave out of the SID chip." The SID chip is the sound chip on the Commodore 64 for for those of you that don't know. The Compute Magazine also stated "The dearth of new software for the 64 has sent developers back to their closets to have another look at older programs to see if there's something to dust off and reissue. Fastfingers is one such program, and the question arises, does it still stand up? We are compelled to give a qualified Yes."

Wow! Very amazing and interesting project you are doing! Examples running very smooth in Firefox 4.0! I will take a deepter look, when having some more time! This project and its language has real potential! *thumbs up*

Btw, will you add sound support? ;)

General chat / Firefox 4.0
« on: March 21, 2011 »
I have to say, i am a really big firefox fan since years! From time to time i try other browsers like opera and chrome too. For me, firefox with all his great addon like NoScript and AdBlock is the best browser. Now i have installed the new final Firefox 4.0 and the first thing is the new (lighted / cutted down) GUI which is not really how i like it but its okay. Something i really miss, is the Statusbar, where you can see source adress when hover a linkadress. The new firefox is really a lot faster as the old version and i am really a bit impressed! Now its time to use and play a bit around, to see how stable it works and what are the good/bad sites of the new GUI. Btw, all of my old addons seems to work.

I really like it! Gfx/Effects are done very nice! Great work!
Btw, thx for greetings ;)

Nice you like the idea. Sure you can suggest a couple of tweaks ;)
Here are very fast done concept previews, so please dont blame about the quality of the bases... I draw it in a real hurry just as concept preview. What versions do you guys like more? Btw, i will change the gold and silver color as some people requested very soon! ;)

Please remember and keep in mind, that the final images may be only 48x48 ;)

Best regards
