General chat / Re: Network Plugs
« on: August 04, 2011 »
hi nick,
i have installed powerline homeplug networks about three times at clients / friends in the past and i have to say it really works fantastic (Esp when there is no way to use wlan). Havent had any problem while installing / using it. The only thing you should know, both sockets must be connected to the same cable line inside your house and all should works fine ;)

Clean up your source, because its really strange! PrintTextWIndows(a$) will ask if fullscreen or not, so name this procedure something like "SelectScreenmode()"! Btw, inside this procedure you are calling Anim(0) - another procedure where the Init stuff and OpenScreen stuff exist and all the drawing with the mainloop. Thats strange! Change your source to something like this:

Code: [Select]
;// All the init stuff at programstart

InitSprite()
Init...

Procedure AskFullscreen()
   ProcedureReturn ValueIfFullScreenOrNot
EndProcedure

Procedure OpenScreen()
   ProcedureReturn IfSuccessfullOrNot
EndProcedure

Procedure WhateverYouNeed()
   ProcedureReturn
EndProcedure

;// Start program

AskFullScreen()
OpenScreen()

;// Here the Mainloop

Repeat
   ClearScreen(0)
   ExamineKeyboard()

   AnyDrawingThings...

   FlipBuffers()
Until KEyboardPushed(...)

End    ; Before program may run into data section and crash when quit app

;// DataSection

Include....

[code]

Btw, you cant draw a sprite on another. Had the same problem when i wanted to code something for the last competition but failed due fact of PB limitaations: Check it here:

Cant test your source atm. Pls add next time a zip with all needed files, which may help to see the problem and solve it. Btw, i taked a fast look to your source and i am really wondering, why are you using following lines outside ot the mainloop?

Code: [Select]
;!!!!! Begin !!!!!
  PrintTextWindows(s$)

Makes no sence to me, becuase the program will be determinated. Add END if your program should exit

Very cool and karma for sharing the source! Btw in windowed mode it seems to have a small bug. Running windowed mode and click mouse outside the window, intro is freezed while music still playing. Anyway very nice! Sadly i am only for a few mins at home to get new clean clothes for hospital. So i dont have the time now to take a look to the source. K++

Hi guys!

Only three guys already knew about my actally health situation. I dont really like to talk about it - but before someone asks what happens to me, when beeing away for at least two or more months, i want that you are informed.

Unforunately i must  take a daily cocktail of medicines with unpleasant side effects, because very heavy burnout syndrome was diagnosted and found beginning this year. (That is the result when working up to 50-60 hours per week for something less as 1000 €/month and dont get only one free day (holiday) in 2010- I know, it's not legal!)

This morning i had an appointment in a special clinic. After the meeting they directly reserved a place for me, beginning from tomorrow for a longer unknown time. As far as i understand it, over the weekends i can go home!?

I hope the peoples i wanted to help with any matters (contributions) know now about my delay and situation, unfortunately if they are still waiting on things.
I am really sorry - but i will hopefully be back with more/full energy and a better health situation soon.

Best regards
'Mr.Vain / Secretly!'

Today this C= projects are announced on german webpages too. You know my opinion about this C= project!

Sadly they didnt created a real 100% C64 portable clone, like this really amazing selfmade C= by a user!

That is what i told all the time and that is the reason i really dislike today companies called AMIGA and COMMODORE!
Both are just only trying to get the last money of old amiga fan users.

C64 == So what about ergonmoy keyboard? XD
Times for AMIGA and COMMODORE are over !!!

Today i visited and phoned with some "known" computershops about, how the EFI BIOS can accept my HDD as EFI HDI and how Windows7 can feature of this.

I was really amazed that nearly nobody knows what EFI brings... Most ppl just think and say its a normals BIOS with just a new GUI with mouse support and nothing more! So what?

What about all the infos about EFI and that its brings ofcourse a new GUI with mouse support but the most important thing, OS (like Apple, WIndows7) dont need to load drivers for GfxCard and so, becuase EFI is loading this in a special way and this is why booting can speed up extreme.

Only one PC seller had a very smart technical support guy, who knows all about EFI and he told me i have probaly to update the HDD firmware to enable EFI support from BIOS. If there is no firmwware for the HDD; there is another way to do this but its a long and complicated way he cant explain on the phone. However, only one guy was able to help a bit and know the real thing (just all) about EFI, where all the others completely failed!

For me the problem still exist... ^^

I have build a new EFI based PC for my aunt which is based on following components:

- ASUS P8P67 R3.0 Mainboard (EFI BIOS)
- Intel i7 2600 CPU
- Sapphire HD6850 Graphiccard 1 GB
- 8 GB DDR3 @1333 (2x 4 GB)
- Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1TB (SATA3)
- LG GH-22NS DVD-Burner
- Antec - Three Hundred Tower
- BeQuit Power - silver (amazing silent)

The Problem:
---------------
The new system is based on the new EFI bios and i changed all the advanced settings and tried the optimized standard values / settings. Installing Windows 7 x64 works fine but booting windows - without any autostarts - still needs about 60 - 80 seconds from the moment when turning the PC on and this boot time is still to long!!!

My own system with Windows 7 x64 on an ASUS P5Q and Intel Q8200 (sadly no EFI bios) starts in unter 1 minute from the moment when i turn the PC on!

Under windows i see only the 100 MB partition but no EFI partiton! When entering the EFI bios the HDD will be shown as normal HDD, where my 8 GB USB stick will shown now as  8 GB USB EFI - So why does my usb stick is listed with EFI support, while the hdd i want to install windows 7 x64 is not listed with EFI support.

I have no idea what i am doing wrong or if i miss something. Anyone here with experiements to install windows 7 x64 on a EFI based system to boot windows a lot faster? Or any idea how i can get the hdd accepted as EFI supported HDD?

However, tomorrow i will try to contact a pc shop and ask for any idea/help too.

I found an interesing short german article with video of a new technolgy, where helicopters (flying-roboters) know how to react/fly to play tennis with you. Sadly the very short article and video is german, but it is worth looking at!

Projects / Re: Very quickly made effect.
« on: March 27, 2011 »
Wow! Very nice work and esp impressive fast for software rendering! The new version looks much better.
Btw, how many objects are you drawing in the latest version? What about a test version where the user can change some values and report you his results? For example a version with following options:

- Select 640x480 and 800x600
- Show number of used Objects/Balls ( change by +/- or cursor keys)
- Showing FPS

Just an idea... so you would get a overview what is possible without slowing down the FPS to much ;)
Still looking forward to your nice work!

General chat / Re: Who loves Blitz3D?
« on: March 23, 2011 »
I purchased and played with Blitz2D too, when the first version released for the PC. Before this, i tried out DarkBasic but i dont really liked it. Next i purchased the first version of Blitz3D which was really powerfull at that time! I started on a own small 3D engine with a friend but before we finished our engine, we moved over to PB PC and our project died.

So Blitz3D is a nice language, the only bad point is that there are no ( ) for commands like Color... As far as i remember you have to trype:

Code: [Select]
Color 255,255,255     << not really my style but as long as it works, its ok :D

instead

Color( 255, 255, 255)    << i like this much more
