Yep, it would get rid of the prompt for a while but there is a limit of 4 rearms allowed & adding more means editing the registry, not only that but it's just masking the problem and not fixing it..

Unfortunately Microsoft still think I stole Windows, the prompt started reappearing today.

Well I tried rearming the activation as suggested above, so far so good. :)

Thanks, I'll try the second solution first :)

Yeah I intend to go back to square one and start all over again... It will do me good.

The graphics and animation look great, I loved the original just to show off the Amiga's graphics to my mates who were still using 8 bit machines - I didn't really like the gameplay all that much though & to be honest the next thing I'd like to see would be a proper remake of Populous (there is a freemium version called goddus which isn't as good).

The next game I play will be Elite Dangerous when I change my PC later this year.

This is probably a long shot but maybe someone here has had this problem and overcome it.

I bought my PC from Novatech with windows 7 professional - Admittedly the computer is getting a bit long in the tooth and I plan to replace it later this year, but anyway..

The case was damaged last year and it destroyed the power button, at the same time I think that my motherboard was fried so I ended up getting my PC re-cased with a new motherboard.

Over the last few months I've been getting popup windows saying that my copy of windows is not genuine and offering me the opportunity to resolve online which then leads me to a page offering me the opportunity to buy a copy of windows.

At first I thought that this was a virus but after researching the matter it is actually a Microsoft anti-piracy initiative.  I contacted online support and provided them with my product key and explained that I'd made previous changes to my hardware.. They checked my licence key and confirmed to me that I was running a bona fide copy of windows 7, they then activated the key remotely and I thought that was the end of the matter.

Unfortunately it was not and I am still getting the popups so I went back to tech support who want to charge me $99 for an hours session with a microsoft technician!  I declined the offer.

The program causing the popups is stored in this location;

I am not allowed to remove the folder, it says I require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to the folder.

Does anyone know how to stop this please?  I'm damned if I'm paying again for software I already own, especially to a bunch of money grabbing scumbastards like Microsoft and I'm not going to pay $99 for some inept M$ tech to remote into my PC either when it is they who installed this "feature" in the first place.

Hi Draven,

Hope you find what you need here :)

It's fine for you to be pissed off at me Adok, please don't abuse the report post function on here though, my opinion of you is the same and if you don't like it, fuck off.

I am not lost in combat forever, I plan to return later this year :)

Nice intro!

Really like this, such a cute intro & the ending was fun too :)

Really atmospheric, I love the cloud effect too.

That was really nice, I love the movement of the ripples & the harp music :)

I've had an evening of pure fun with this and in some respects I think that the emulator has actually improved the way that some of the more intensive programs run, I especially enjoyed watching Fryer's stuff running at 50fps and tankzone in full frame rate, I never thought I'd see the day :)

Thanks for this emulator!

Sounds like I have something to do when I get home from work tonight! 😊

Yeah they have been upgrading some things.  As far as hosting companies go, xilo is about the best for the money so I wouldn't be concerned about your website :)

Thanks Rel, I don't think your proxy caused the issue though so don't worry about visiting here :)

Sadly I don't think it was Puki, I don't know what all the factors were either..
Xilo have replaced some hardware and discovered another user on our server was taking the database down, while they were investigating I've been testing and patching the forum to make sure it is as secure as possible.

Hopefully it's all fixed now :)

We shall see!!

Thanks Paul...

It's about time I did some more work here anyway so it's making me look at the source for the first time in a long time at least :)

Jake is asking me to teach him how to code too, he's still a bit young (7) but I want to make sure that DBF is still here when he does get started again.
