^ True!  :inspired:

I recently nabbed a couple of great books from such places and there was lots of amazingly solid furniture going for nothing! The old stuff puts most modern furniture to shame, the price is but a hernia! ;)

I know what you mean, I hate downloading unkown software too.

You can use Flash to make an swf from an fla. If there's a problem with Flash somehow I can do it for you if you want. :)

Flash generates an swf (executable) from an fla (source file), do you mean to convert it the other way around perhaps (swf to fla)?

I know there are several "decompliers", the one I tried got surprisingly good results (forgot the name unfortunately).

3rd place was hotly contested, we should've had live commentary on the voting!

So ends yet another fine challenge... We'll meet again next time gentlemen!  :)

Cool stuff CK, how does C# compare to C++?

I've been reading and watching a lot about encryption and decryption the last few days after I found this: 10 biggest unsolved mysteries.

I'm not working on nothing atm, but I picked up Godel, Escher Bach again, it's awesome!  :)
(book is really falling apart now, it's in 2 parts)

Thanks CK, there are 5 breakable things in there, the trashcan, pot/pan (gives a nice gooie mess), window, fruitbowl and the glasses and plates. :)

Thanks for the great feedback all (lol @ jim)! :)
I'm not sure why I used a mouse up event instead of a mousedown (meaby habitual as I tend prefer mouseup on buttons so people can change their mind mid-click). All I can say is that I'm happy everything sort of works after after many sleepless nights. We had a really tight deadline (10 days) to get everything working. I did the programming, 2 others the graphics and another guy fixed the external php scripts for the automail and the FaceBook integration.

It was a first for me and off course technical difficulties enhanced the fun; my mail stopped working for the 1st time in history, had to switch mail mid project after I found out 4 days later, and my laptop couldn't open the source file in the last days (due to a corrupted PNG as I eventually found out).

I was really sweating it near the end (lot's of game-breaking bugs). Especially since I'm the guy that puts everything together, if I failed everybody did. It's good to look back on it though, it was worth it. :)

Projects / my 1st commercial game project!
« on: May 23, 2012 »

I just wanted to show off my first professional game project. The game itself is pretty drab (it's basically a discount give away), but I'm pretty excited about working with the studio that hired me (as are they). I did some 3d models for them a short while ago and they're now planning to switch to games, so hopefully we'll do some cooler projects together in the future.

You can play it on: bruynzeelkeukens.nl (they sell kitchens), just click the ad in the banner to play it. I didn't include a direct link in order to prevent them from seeing where the traffic is from. I'm not too keen on them finding me here...

Would like to hear what you think about it. As I said the game itself is pretty drab, but it's still really cool to see everything running on my code (and you can make a mess of the kitchen). I also hid some secret greetings to the people I worked with in the menu. Haha  ;D

Ditto, what I saw looked really cool!  :)

Thanks madsravn! :)

The music is an mp3 I found on my HD (probably from freesound.org, or soundsnap.com). The style of this demo is mostly inspired by it, normally I try to find music to go with the effects.

The cube was made by taping 8 paper cubes together over 3 perpendicular edges. The paper cubes were kindly made by my semi-anonymous friend and house mate (which helped on the plawesoma font too) after I fumbled up a 3d attempt to cut them, refusing to put pen to paper... :)

I painted it using left over paint from my other housemates 6yo daughter which stays with us sometimes (I spray painted my car with her too ;D).

Another bunch of excellent demos, voting will be as enjoyable as it will be difficult! :D
