Since I like to be a partypooper: One word is "ghost".  :D Haven't found out too many other words yet. Will try out more tomorrow, since it's bed time now. Gotta work tomorrow. Nice idea dude! And YAY for another entry! :)

Doesn't work here on my gf's computer.  It sez Create Pixel Shader error. Will check it out on mine when I'm back home. But good to see that there is another entry!  :) What about a screenshot mate?

Thx Jim and ck0! Makes me really happy that so many people like it :)

@ck0: you only missed out the rotozoom screen benny was complaining (;)) about earlier. As long as you saw the dancing skeleton (my personal favorite too) everything's fine. Maybe you should try to climb that tree again though, it even works on my stone old laptop from 1999 ;D

In this case cute means shpooky as hell, right?  ;) Thanks!

First of all thanks dude!  :kewl:

One little thing, the rotozoomer does not seem to rotate
the image all the 360degrees, is it right?

It's one pumpkin picture that's plotted onto the screen a couple of times. And every pumpkin rotates 360°. But now that you say it I had a close look at it again and one can get the impression that the whole thing doesn't rotate 360°. Sorry for that. Maybe I should have used better values, so this doesn't occur. I fiddled so much with the values and then went on to the other rooms and didn't have a closer look anymore. I have an easy solution though: Just think of it as a BITS guest screen and everything will be fine!  :D

Ok, from the screenshot, I haven't got a clue what that might become when it's finished. A wild guess would be: something with spiderwebs!? Anyways, hang in there dude. I would love to see the final product! :)

Thanks mate :)

Is there any way of reaching the top of the mansion though?

No. Actually I had plans (I had a lotta plans, but not enough sparetime  :D) for some secret steps that lead to the top but dropped them due to the fact that there's no roof tiles. The top is chopped off in the original game, too. I tried to redraw the roof myself but it looked like shite...

Thanks for the nice feedback guys! I'm glad you like it  :)

Hi guys!

Here you have my entry for the Halloween compo. It's not a game, it's more a tribute to the oldschool mega demos i loved to watch on the ST, where you could wander around and enter different demo screens by using different doors. I had huge plans for the screens but time wasn't exactly on my side creating this. I'm still happy how far I got. I'm releasing it now, so I can concentrate on my real work again. (and because my gf is fed up with me sitting in front of it all the time ;D

Code: Padman
GFX:  Ripped from several games, see the scroller for details.
Music : Chris Link

Have fun! (and get spooked, like umm boo! and stuff  :D)

Pad  :)

Ok, I read the whole scroller and feel kinda dizzy now (and my monitor seems to be moving :o) . What can I say. Very nice indeed! And a huge thanks for the greetings! That's the first time ever for me to be greeted in some release!  :kewl: And boy, that's a lotta bats, somebody call the vermin exterminator! It's urgent!  :D
I have something in the making too, I hope it will be finished in time (I hate work, whoever invented it shall be hanged...  :whack:)...
Well done dude!

@ benny: Thanks man  :kewl:

@ shockwave: True that, kids nowadays won't understand what this was all about. I mean AN Cool didn't even show some shit hot coding skills. He just used 2 more or less ugly pics and sampled sounds. And that was enough. If you released something like that today to insult somebody else, everybody would just laugh at you. I miss the good old days.  :)

Projects / AN Cool - Amiga Joke Remake
« on: October 05, 2009 »
Hey guys!

For those who don't know what this is all about. We had a "discussion" going on the other day over at RR about the old Atari ST / Amiga war. And sort of came to the conclusion that it might be fun to revive it. Well, here is my little contribution to it.  >:D AN Cool's "Amiga Joke". AN Cool was a member of TCB, a pretty famous Demo group from Sweden.
I must admit I had a good laugh when I watched it again after all those years. Dissing other people with 2 pics and sampled sounds is dissing with style. (...and a fancy hat, is that a horse on the cap AN cool?  ;)) In your face Amiga lovers!  AN Cool showed ya! :D I was tempted to leave out the ESC routine. (but I didn't.) You can annoy the livin shit out of people if this runs in endless mode! haha
I hereby encourage other forum members to code some Anti Atari stuff! And remember, this is for fun!

Enjoy!

Pad :)

Sorry for the delay. Here's what was found on my old computers' harddisks. Hope it helps!

Thanks guys! (...and the apology wasn't meant too seriously anyways ;D)

Hi guys!

Yup, it's me bothering again with a fresh Atari ST remake!  :kewl: (Apologies to all who cannot be bothered with remakes and were expecting something else!  ;)) This time we have a pretty old goodie. Bubble Bobble by The Exceptions aka. TEX from the year 1987. TEX started off with cracktros and later released some cool demos. Jochen Hippel aka. Mad Max was a member of this group!
When you view the remake you might say to yourself "Oi, why isn't the stuff centered on screen?" This is - for all who don't know already - because the Atari ST didn't use the whole screen. It had borders. But slick coders found ways to break those borders and it then became in vogue to use the whole screen in cracktros and intros.... That's what I tried to mimic here.
As always, the original Atari exe is included.

Some more facts:

Group: The Exceptions aka. TEX
Release Year: 1987

Sadly it doesn't state a coder only a cracker, so you can't really tell who coded the intro. Music could be by Mad Max. Anybody an idea where the music could be from?

Edit: It's a Zoolook cover. Thanks Buckethead!

I hope it works (it uses alpha blending, so you never know ::)), so enjoy watching it and have a nice weekend you all!

Bye, Pad :)

P.S. It would be great again, if somebody who can use the force at RR could upload it there. Thanks in advance!
