Incredible, its amazing how far you took Chladni. Great job at putting it together, personally I don't think the wording/poetry was bad - I thought it was quite fitting actaully. Looking forward to your next release!

Congrats to the winners, excellent entries. I had great fun just taking part, looking forward to the next one. Thanks to Shockwave and those involved in organising it.

Really nice work, would be cool to see the monsters eyes glow in a demo/intro :)

That is amazing, that first scene looks weird but very cool. Works fine on my comp/gfx card.

I think they are different to just fx based demos, not easily comparable. I enjoyed Toys, haven't seen halla. To me what usually makes the biggest difference is syncing of the music and effects properly. I've quit demos that have good effects or good music but to me I like demos that combine the two as most don't in anyway.. or don't seem to.

Sorry to hear about it. Support lines for companies generally suck, I've spent way too long on ntl's before! Hope everything works out ok for you soon.

That is very cool, I've done a little bit of learning about procedural textues (mostly celluar). Defintely going to learn about this, thanks for the source.

Runs fine on my machine (1ghz Athlon, FX5900XT nVidia).

Looks really good, its amazing what can be done with such small space. Heck the picture is more than 26 times the size.

Very nice work, I was disappointed when it ended. Looking forward to seeing the completed version.

Thanks, I guess it was just a problem with the jpeg library I was using, good to know.

I should have tried it earlier but I think its probably just the resolution as I took out all the sound in the second file. Clyde could you try the attached version it has 2 exes one low and one high. I suspect the low (320x200) just isn't supported on new video cards.

Thanks

Keep it up! You'll be greater everyday!

Very true, I think I learned more coding in the last 3 days before the comp than I had in the previous year!

Clyde/BA: Could you try the attached test version, I took out the music/ufmod routines.

I've started work on my next intro, which should go a bit easier.. now that I've learnt some basics that I thought I already knew ;)

I will try a few things out with UPX (I am using the same version as you) and batch files to check, will let you know what I find out.

Coding and having fun is the best part of this compo, welldone!

Very true, I learnt a lot during the compo. I would have said I knew a fair amount of coding/etc before the comp but really you only learn by doing. I just wish I didn't procrastinate so much and leave everything till the last mintute. Atleast I am really motivated now to work on a proper intro.

Sorry, no idea except some slower machines may struggle but I don't know. What speed is your cpu?

Its an Athlon 1gz (pretty old now).

No problem, glad I could help. Thinking about it more, I wonder if its because of it being used in a batch file that causes the problem and not UPX.
