[TINYC5] Hello World
« on: December 19, 2011 »
Here's my entry.

I must say that even though I'd never tried Javascript before that I found the TinyC5 library lots and lots of fun, it's even made learning javascripts little quirks enjoyable.

A few apologies;

Got a lot going on at home (nothing bad) that I have to deal with at the moment so there are a few issues that I haven't had chance to fix;

1: The music doesn't loop in Chrome.
2: The title is lame.
3: The code (especially the scroller) is a bit of a mess.

I would have loved to remedy these things but I know that I will have no time at all between now and Christmas, so by all means I hope you enjoy my little demo and I look forward to seeing all of yours!

Cheers :)

You just extract the zip file and open index.html with Google Chrome or FireFox :)  as long as your browser is up to date it should work.

Click on Spammer Icon then Click on Tool then Source Code...You should be able to see the Source code  ;D but one things I found out is that You cant edit them....so the only way to edit it is using Notepad far as I know :)

Unless Benny will say there somethings different editor that I can edit the Code or if someone would like to play round with it :)

Just edit it with notepad or notepad ++ if you want to alter the code :) I wrote it with notepad ++ . It's a good editor and free too!

Awesome work, mate. Perfect starfield, copperbars, sine scroller plus great music makes a perfect oldschool intro. K++ for your first javascript production. Really great to see. Good stuff!

For a first attempt with JS, you've got a stunning 3D starfield and a great sine scroller complete with distorting text.

Certainly a great entry even if the source is a little messy - it's better written than Windows Vista at any rate.

Cool demo Shockwave, very enjoyable to watch! Especially cool it's your first js production, I can see js becomming even more relevant in the future. I actually like the title as well, for the double meaning goes well with the space flythrough. I have not yet come across a world in your demo as of yet, but I realise the universe is a big place (not to mention an infinitely generated universe), so I'll remain cautiously optimistic for at least the next few days!  ;D

My personal "hello world" program is a red bouncing ball. :)
