Collatz Conjecture

Saw this on another forum:

I find it interesting that for such a simple mechanic, the mathematicians haven't been able to come up a proof for this yet. That is, whether all numbers will eventually reach 1.

Nowhere near as difficult a problem as the Reimann Hypothesis which is still on
Hilberts list of problems in mathematics. No one expects this one to be disproved either since it holds true in all cases tested so far.

That was not an easy read.  I think I lost IQ points during that reading.
