Hi,

I am new to this coding stuff. Shock explained this to me and I think I understand it, but thought if maybe I heard it from someone else in a different version, maybe I could make sure I understood it.

I guess I just need to go over the double buffering and logical vs physical. I ran both and see a slight difference. Am I missing something? It is just too simple to see why this slight difference is important?

Thanks, lilw4t3rdr0p

I was trying to put over about the way that the screen refreshes and how double buffering works, I didn't quite put it over properly by the looks! Sorry.
What are you stuck on specifically? :) Is it just why you should be doing it?

Yeah, I guess so. Why should I be doing it and what difference will it make down the road. I understand how to it, just not why.

Thanks, Shock  :)

The biggest reason for why, is because if you don't, then the user actually sees your graphics as you're rendering them So they'll see partial scenes, instead of teh complete ones. If that makes any sense.. It also can make your animation look a lot smoother.

Thanks. And I have another question: Can I slow it down a bit more so I can see it slower?

Yes, that's not too hard in Blitz, you can use the vwait command, that waits for a screen refresh :) That will slow things down enough for you to see.
If you have some code that you need help on, feel free to post it.
