Hey everyone! I've been around this forum for a while but never really posted anything. I was mostly checking out the demos that I remember from a really long time ago when I first started coding.

Been around for ages but I haven't posted anything. I'm sending this message to assure the board I am not a spambot or something.

Furthermore I'll get busy writing some stuff in here. I think I did pre 2004 but that's it.

Hola,
I'm an active C64 demo scener (in the C64 group Style/USA), stumbled across this site while researching for an effect algorithm I'm working on for a C64 demo.  There aren't a lot of places to discuss general techniques and algorithms, all the other forums I've seen are pretty platform-targetted.  From reading here I can see it's a cool place to be.

Welcome around (to Six and to all people)

It's rare to see USA guys since the demoscene is not well known there (little community as far as I know). So nice to seee you here (I like the C64 Musics in demo (I can't really say about the techniques since I don't really the limitations)
The demoscene will never die, never!

Yeah, I think it's down to us and two or three other groups still in the US as far as the C64 goes.

So nice to seee you here (I like the C64 Musics in demo (I can't really say about the techniques since I don't really the limitations)
A quick summary:
16 colors from a fixed palette, more can be achieved with a frame-swapping technique they call interlacing.  1.2Mhz CPU, graphics modes are all cellular instead of linear.  160x100 pixel display in multicolor graphics modes.  Software modes are possible by tweaking the video chip's registers in different ways.  Generally you can translate any effect to the C64 from a more powerful platform by simplifying it and pre-rendering anything that can be pre-rendered.  More can be done with some of the recent C64 variants like the DTV and DTVII/III.

I got fragles in my shirt.

Used to be on the danish PC scene back in 1996 - in Prone. Suddenly stopped when real life kicked in.

Hi All ...

Well honestly I'm a bit ashamed to post here only for my account not to be deleted ...
I never posted anything but I always found here perfect informations I needed !

But here's a bit of my background : a friend of mine told me one day that I was an old computer geek with real piece of C64 in it .... and he was right ! ;-)
It's on that wonderfull little 8Bits machine that "My Real Life" began ... than I got my Amiga 500 ... and my addiction to computer jumped to another level ( hum .. let's say the "no-return-level" :o ) ...

Now, a big amount of years after ... I'm still coding stuff and things and other stuff :p ...
( especially for Android )
