Hiya,

I go by Epik, but also Andrew because that's my name. I program primarily in C#, but am taking a college course in JavaScript and plan on taking more in the future. I have a little experience in Lua, have a couple years in CSS and HTML, and have begun to dawdle in SQL, LINQ, and useage of XML. I plan on a career in software development and am working on getting internships for added resume points and experience.

I'm a big gamer and I play Xbox and PC primarily.

 :hi: EpikYummeh ...
What was your first contact with the demoscene? Or are you just interested in programming in general?

Anyway - thanks for your introduction - welcome on board.

hey I'm main;y here to learn as much as I can. I have trouble learning new things but have a huge desire to learn as much as I can about demo coding.

I use the C programming language and use SDL to display my graphics. I want to stick with 2D stuff until I feel I have mastered it. then I will move onto OpenGL

Hello flightcrank,

welcome on board ... starting with 2D and then moving slowly to 3d sounds like a good plan IMHO ... Also using C with SDL sounds like a proper setup to start with.

Feel free to ask questions. There are a lot of helpful ppl here around.

Best,
benny!

Hello all!

I joined this site mainly to learn more, and it certainly seems a good place to start
I used to be quite into html/php/sql, but that was some time ago
now i am more in to c++, i have loads of books to help, and visual studio, i'm using win7 x64
i thought using visual studio combined with sdl would be a good start, but i'm open to try pretty much anything

I love all the old school stuff, i am now recently 40 years old, and was fortunate to experience the fantastic 8bit era
and watch it grow, loved every minute

I do have many consoles/computers still working, right from c64, rubber key spectrums, vectrex, all sorts, the loft is full of them
i do have a habit of picking up machines and repairing them, so i'm a bit of a hoarder  ;D

I do hope to learn lots of stuff from this site, i really love the old intros/cracktros/demos from the c64/amiga days

so maybe one day i will eventually create one of my own, thats my goal anyway

Thank for reading my long winded post
