Hi everyone.
In the late 80īs / early 90īs i used to program in C & Asm, and is now looking forward to start programming again on my A500.
Maybe there will be a demo or two, if i can remember and relearn 68k programming.  :)

oh noes! i realized of this thread just after i posted my introduction :c anyway, the folks of this community seems to be very cool! :D can't wait to get involved here :) my favorite programming languages are C++ and C# so far and plan giving some love to plain C as well someday x3
looking forward to meet the community and hopefully be able to help someone :)

Hello, everyone!

I've not been a part of any groups or anything, but I've developed an interest in the demoscene over the past few years so this board immediately piqued my interest when I stumbled on in here from Google haha.

I'd like to be able to learn from and, hopefully, eventually share some interesting content.
I got into programming over 10 years ago after developing an interest in game development and made a profession out of it.
I usually find myself writing C++, though I prefer C for various reasons. I also like PureBasic, but I'm still a bit new to that one haha. I've used many languages to varying extents, but these are the languages I find myself using the most as of late.

I also make a hobby of reverse engineering software, though this is rarely done with the intent of cracking anything, but rather to facilitate a means of translating applications and games that lack any straightforward means through which to translate them and are unlikely to be officially translated.

I tend to take my privacy online a bit seriously, so I ask that you please excuse my brief and somewhat shallow introduction. ^^;
Anyway, I'm glad to be here. Hopefully we can all get along. ^^

Hello everyone. I'm a guy from far far north, interested in gaming, coding and vice versa. :D
I'm a huge fan or retro(style) intros from the demoscene and wish to learn more than I already know (which is not much to be honest).
I currently only code in .NET languages, but I know a little Java and Python. I'm using the demo version of PureBasic to learn that next.

I hope that I can learn from you guys and maybe share what I've made once I'm good enough.

Cheers,
ATR

Hey everyone

Recently I have become pretty interested in demo stuff, especially music and cool shader stuff :) In fact the reason I joined is because I wanted to download a precompiled binary of Bonzomatic that @emook posted but this is one of those dumb sites where you have to register to download files, and during the registration it said that you have to make a post in 24 hours or your account will be deleted which is even dumber, so I figured I would just get that out of the way now lol

I'm not particularly sure what I could offer to people here demo related, I am OK at writing music but not fantastic (though I am practicing and getting better), my daws of choice are reaper, famitracker, deflemask, and milkytracker, when I was younger I made a few short beats on LGPT and PSPSeq but those files are lost :( I have dabbled with protracker but I doubt I will use it often unless I am making music for a retro 4 channel compo or something like that.  I only really know the basics of programming so I wouldn't be very helpful on the coding side of things since demo centric code is way out of my league atm  :D I know how to do really basic stuff in C/C++ and Lua, I do know a little about 6502 and m68k asm which were surprisingly easy for me to grasp given my general lack of programming experience. But unfortunately since I don't have much time for coding I have never really written any full interesting programs. Maybe I could give people some cool art ideas. Maybe  :D

Welcome, Therektafire,

I hope you have fun around here. There's plenty of examples of graphical effects in tons of languages in the depths of the DBF forums, so I'm sure you'll find the perfect inspiration.

Hello

I've been browsing and posting in the PureBasic section of the forum for a while now, so thought I'd post here finally.  I mainly play around in 8bits, pixelling and composing for C64, but have also composed for the Plus4 and Atari 8bit.

You can see/hear some of my C64 stuff on my CSDb profile here:  https://csdb.dk/scener/?id=6404

I'm a member of the groups Cosine (http://www.cosine.org.uk/) and Arkanix Labs (http://www.arkanixlabs.com/).

For various reasons, I ended up coding in PureBasic a couple of years ago and have knocked up a couple of utilities for the C64 to help with graphics work, namely creating character sets using UltrafontPC (https://csdb.dk/release/?id=156195) and a mapping tool called CartographPC (internal only at present).

I recently fancied trying out some of the other functions of PureBasic, so have coded up a couple of simple demos.  Firstly was 'Old School Demo 1' (http://www.dbfinteractive.com/forum/index.php?topic=6756.0) and most recently, 'Beast Tribute - Old School Demo 2' (http://www.dbfinteractive.com/forum/index.php?topic=6766.0).  Both the demos include heavily commented source for others to poke and prod.

There will shortly be a PureBasic game added to that as well that I'm not far off finishing, that is a PC conversion of a Cosine 8bit game called 'Blok Copy'.

Cheers!

Hi there,
i subscribed in February 20, 2016 but i haven't written anything about me till now.
I'm coming from germany.
In the early 80th i got an c64 and i started coding gfx and animations on it.
Sadly i never had an Amiga.
In the beginning 90th i started to code on  PC.
I studied IT and became a professional coder. My languages are VB.Net, C/ C++, C#. For hobby Blitz3D, BlitzMax, FreeBasic, PureBasic, C++ with SFML, OpenGL, DX9.
I want to code demos, cracktros keygens but i still train gfx effects ;-).

Best regards,
Spliffer

maybe you like it.

i'm looking for a skilled coder who can handle sesion id's in Purebasic. just try to code a upload tool for Rapidgator. the point is: receiving the uploaded shortlink.

maybe you can help? :)

ahhh ... and welcome
