Goth rock.
« on: March 23, 2007 »
I'm listening to fields of the Nephilim at the moment, a song called "Shiva". Maybe some people here have even heard of it, it's rythmic, relentless and depressing and perfect for coding. Especially as I have ripped the guts out of my next intro (the one with the chessfield, stone blocks and fire) and now I am just going to have fire with some sliced veins dangling from the top of the screen, dripping blood into the flames that sizzles :D

There's probably been a favourite coding music topic here before but I can't find it. Obvious stuff is going to be the S!P podcasts and that kind of thing I suppose.

Hehe, that does sound perfect!! :)

I usually listen to the band The Receiving End of Sirens because their stuff is vert introspective. Other times when I'm just coding for fun more than thought I tend to listen to the bands UnderØATH, Saosin, and Thursday.

Never heard of it, mate. But interesting to hear the changes of your demo. Very
looking forward to see it.

Concerning music ... I am for more than 10 years addicted to:

mesh

It's synthy, electronic music actually rather poppy - but no mainstream. And the
audience of their concerts are 99% dressed in black ;)

Heh. No I'm not claiming I am a goth.. Unfortunately the music isn't working. See attached rar... :(

I'm happy with the flames but the blood looks crap.
Going to check out the other things that have been posted too, though I don't know if I want to listen to anything to "poppy".

@SW:
Wow ... flames are rockin great ! Excellent work.

Ok ... the blood now are in circles. Guess a raindrop/tear form
would look more realistic. But this may be rather hard to generate.

The movement/waving of the veins are great too ...

Those flames are cool, and very realistic. And yeah I'd agree about the blood thing, it just dosent look right in comparison.

Those flames are cooking.  :stirrer:

And yeah.... the blood looks crap :)

I've tried to code a blood effect before and it's not easy.... sound like a possible coding challenge to me.
