CLASSIC COMP : Hybrid
« on: May 18, 2007 »
I've been working ma ass off on this project!

But its not quite finished, but I'll enter as it is. Theres no music, and a couple other stuff.

Instead of trying to make one of the following, I decided to make a compilation and my own take on them.

http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=47
http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=63
http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=112

Its my first c++ app, an the first time I've used the engine I developed in blitz.
I've included the source as download too. But its not in a project, as soon as i can figure how to make it work in a new solution for VC i'll add that too, but all the code it there.

The engine is really ineficient and is all double based, and the code is fairly messy and uncomented, but it shows how far i've gotten with c++ :)

Hope you like it!

Updated the app, it was crashing, sorry about that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I've updated the exe to a more finished state, still got no music though.

Don't forget the flashtro link, dude! That's really cool choice -- used to love stuff like this on the Miggy.

Definately a lot of work went into this, as did most of the other intros too.. There were only two of these intros as far as I can see who interpreted an idea, this is one, sledge (to a lesser degree) was the other..

The others were all straight conversions which also needed a different kind of skill *thinking ot the painstaking hours getting the sine tables right for the colours in the flt intro! or re-designing the vector logo in the Paranoimia one*

The question is not of quality at all, there's nothing in this comp that is unworthy of a prize.. It just comes down to a matter of preference. That's why it's so hard to choose, I love them all.

Very generous to share the source - your clipper is still craaaaazzzzzy man!
Lovely old school feel to the graphics - wasn't it Damocles that had something like this?

That's it!!

That's what this reminds me of... Damocles on the Amiga, only much smoother.

I stillthink that this shoul be used to make a kick ass intercaptor clone.

Glad you all liked it, thanks for the comments :)

There are quite a few things that are similar in looks. Elite intro was the one that started me along this project.

I'm happy that its brining up these different games on the amiga too :)
