Rip Keith
« on: September 15, 2009 »
I'm very sad to hear about this..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8256260.stm

He was the only cook I used to enjoy watching on TV, the guy was a shamboilc inspiration to a lot of people.. I have fond memories of watching his programs on TV when I was a child, he was so effortlessly down to earth and typically British, a sad loss.. He died too young.

And he smoked up to the end, apparently. They showed The Beast (I think it was called) here recently. He was making it while he was receiving treatment. Shit show but great acting from him.

R.I.P Keith Floyd

Any person who made that quality food and drank the wine he did at the same time has to be admired.Put a lot of these so called celebrity chefs today to shame.A top man and will be sorely missed.

It was really shocked and suprised to hear about this, and typing as a Chef.

Mostly down to the crazyness of the director Dave, the places that dude cooked in and at, half the time utterly bonkers, and his food still rocked. Often getting funny looks and tellings off from the people signature dishes he recreated. He also made that tune ( was it the stranglers?) his own! :)

Without Floyd, I doubt Rick Stine would be in the public gaze as a TV Chef.

It's also a tradgic shame about Patrick Swayzee.

This was really sad news, but I think his last meal summed him up...

Partridge, shrimps and oysters washed down with a bottle of fine champagne :)

Top guy!
This isn't goodbye.....
