Halloween Challenge Voting!

Well, entries were a bit thin on the ground this time but we have enough to have a vote!

The demos were pretty cool actually so I think you'll have some troubles choosing your favourites. This time please choose your Two favourites. There's no point in having three votes this time, there aren't enough!

On a plus point, there's no excuse for not trying these four intros and choosing your favourite two.

Extended thanks go to those people who supported the challenge and also to everyone who will vote.

The Morgue Yard - Padman

This demo takes it's inspiration from all those great Atari mega-demos where you move a character around some screens and you have to go into the various doors to choose the part you want.

The graphics present a nice mood, as you jump around the spooky scenery you can land on some sparkly doors which trigger the different effects, these need a mention too because they are great, and include such things as cauldrons bubbling over with pumpkins and a Skeleton dancing to 80's dance music.

The Haunted Castle - RBZ

RBZ has always loved the Halloween challenges and this time he has given us a 3D demo, the only entrand to take a 3D approach to the challenge actually.

A haunted castle logo fades on and then off and then we're treated to a view of a 3D castele from an artistic angle. The camera looks up at the castle as it circles it, it looks full of dark secrets and is very effective

Pastrygeist - Combatking0

Whenever Combatking enters a challenge I always expect to see something imaginative and different and this one is no exception.

There are a selection of chunks of pastry products scattered on the screen. In the background some mischevious spirits are picking up the pies and moving them around the screen.

As an added spooky bonus you are invited to type some words you would associate with Halloween into the keys while you are watching. If you guess the right ones then you will be rewarded with extra scary pictures

Spooky Castle - Shockwave

There is a castle in the background of this demo, perched on a mountain top, a spooky Halloween moon shines behind it, you can see bats flying around in the distance.

Looking closer to the front of the picture there are trees and bushes with all kinds of creepy creatures hiding within them, more bats fly out from behind the bushes and you may even see the silhouette of a witch flying past the moon from time to time if you look carefully.

These halloween compos are the most fun I reckon... too bad it happens in final exam month :/ Maybe I should write next years' one this december

Best of luck to padman, his was my favourite and clearly the most effort went into it.

Voted Padman was my favourite too, but all of them were very cool!
I will definitely try to make something for the next kompo.
Plus I also watch all previous kompos, i've been away all year, sorry (this industry job ive recently has been taking all my juice but it has taught me alot about gfx-coding)
