I'm not sure how that would work as a game mechanic - please elaborate.

[update] It's not much, but if you now select the Yellow elf (Q or E keys), you can use the mouse to aim the Baublezooka. Until I think of a better name, I'm calling it a Baublezooka.

The aiming works well :)
Stardust still needs fixing and the keys definately need a re-think, they are very difficult for my fat fingers.

Anyway this looks like it could be fun.

This is the sort of feedback I need - I'm considering a snowfall in the background, but I will add it last so I can see what's going on during testing.

What key selection would you suggest? A customisable set-up is possible if there is a vast disagreement.

i think a,w,s,d and space are fine, and for the right hand the cursor keys for actions.

So, use W,A,S,D for direction control, Space for dropping and shooting, Left and Right arrows for swapping elves and Up arrow to fire laser?

Sounds good - I'll make these changes to the next update. Dropping (but not shooting) will also be enabled in the next few minutes.

[update] It is now up - here is the link for those who don't want to go back to the last page.

I'd go for arrows for control, One button to swap elves, there's only 3 of them so why complicate it?)  one to fire lazer, one to shoot.

Arrows and z,x,c ?

Simple and useable, most people would explect the arrows to be used for movement, but I am sure you could make them re-definable to please everyone :)

Some people consider WASD to be normal for movement, and some consider the arrow keys normal.

I'll put up a handful of different configurations in the start screen. A fully customisable control set will be available for the final build, but not tonight.

I've put in 2 alternate control schemes with the arrow keys used for movement by default. I decided to keep 2 keys for swapping elves, but you may use only 1 if you prefer.

Shooting has been enabled, but it is very buggy - it only fires horizontally, and the baubles appear away from the end of the gun. Also, you run out after 64 of them, and the debug view is visible - I ran out of time. These errors WILL be fixed tomorrow.

The chimney problem will be solved in a later update, though some will argue the end result will make the game too easy, extra points will be awarded for accuracy.

I'll add the moving stars too, that's a good idea.

I've fixed the manual targetting system, but a power-up will offer automatic targetting, so you won't need 3 arms to play.

The presents now go down the chimneys - I need to work on the collision detection for the invisible hit area, and it doesn't keep score, but it's a start.

Pretty good start. It reminds me a bit of Paperboy in how it plays.
