DESTRUCTION CHALLENGE 2011

:clap: !Welcome To The Destruction Challenge! :clap:

It's been too long since the last challenge.
For that I apologise, but let's start the challenges off again with a large;

BANG

Your task this time is open to your interpretation, but we would like you to destroy something in an interesting way!

You could shoot something into little pieces.. Or set fire to something and have it crumble into ashes.. Or freeze something into a block of ice and shatter it.. Or put a village in the path of a dam that breaks and washes it all away..

You could model a pane of glass and fire a bullet through it and simulate the way that it shatters.. Or maybe you want to show the destructive power of explosives.. Or the big bang.. Or knock a wall over..

You may even simply have a text routine that disintegrates.. All entries, no matter how simple or difficult will be welcome!

Here are a couple of cool clips that may inspire you;

This is a great challenge and I have a question.
Should it be a demo or can it be something interactive? It's not defined in the rules.

As long as it's a destruction challenge, interaction would be fun, but do I have to also provide a demo mode where things run automatically or is the interactive version along with some help keys info enough?

@Optimus: I believe Hellfire's entry in the Magnification compo was interactive! It's a great idea.

Probably won't be able to enter this myself, but it's certainly very exciting.

I also have a cunning plan.... .  .   .
After reading that I got the image of Mr Burns sitting at his desk with his hands forming a triangle and saying "Excellent". Now all we need is a diabolical laughter and we are set.

But ideas I have, realistic ideas? No, and that's my problem.

Damn you reality, Damn you to hell!

That's the good thing about programming - it doesn't need to be completely realistic ;D

Deadline looms large...

It certainly does. Of course only this morning I figured out what I wanted to try to do. I'll see if I have the time to create it today.
