I've installed a different donations module to the site.

I like this version because it's flexible enough to let a person decide what amount to donate.
I'd just like to let you know why I have added this again and why it was removed before.

I had to add the subscriptions because I was in a very bad place with money at the time and I unexpectedly had to buy new hosting after Hostpappa wrecked our site.

The subscriptions were then taken off the site actually because Retro-Remakes shares the webspace.  This year, however I will be handing that site over to Stormbringer or Stormbringer will be making a donation to DBF to cover their side of things - if the latter case happens and we are over target it will be re-invested in the hosting or offered as comp prizes.


This version actually has a bar that shows the progress towards the goal of hosting, it is also automatically summarises the donations and takes paypal charges into account and displays them so that anybody can see the balance sheet :)

Also, I am billed by Xilo each year, the PDF of the bill is and will be available to anyone who has donated via PM (I am not posting it as it contains my home address and phone number).

About comp prizes, some people agree with the giving of cash for comps, and others don't agree.
Whether you agree or not, the giving of prizes in demo competitions is a time honoured custom, even if it is only a few pounds to buy some beer and it's going to continue here.


I will leave this active, my expectations are that I will still be putting my hand in my pocket for some of the hosting and comp prizes, but that's cool.  I don't mind doing it at all, this is just here in case anyone wants to put something towards the site and you shouldn't feel pressurised or obligated at all.

Please pay attention to the above paragraph, the choice to donate lies with the individual.

As I stated over at RR once, this is a good idea and the way that it's gonna happen is cool, too!

But maybe I'm completely blind or dumb (or both), where is that menu?  ??? All i got is:

HOME | HELP| SEARCH | ADMIN | MODERATE | PROFILE | MY MESSAGES | CALENDAR | MEMBERS | LOGOUT

Or am I not allowed to donate as a senior member?  ;)
