I thought that this was a joke at first until I realised how it works...  Maybe one day all 256 byte intros will be coded in this way!

Fantastic video. KB/Farbrausch's Facebook comment rules:

I especially like the part where the mouse pointer wanders off screen (to the right, where the three buttons in the title bare are "missing") and then the color changes magically. Chuck Norris would at least have memorized the RGB values you cheater :D

Win!!

ASM coding for 256b using PS... having such a knowledge of opcodes you can code with almost anything... COOL!

debug.com running on windows?
Video capture tool that can survive a Virtual 8086 Mode switch?

Nice joke but anyone can write a demo named "debug.exe" and place the original
 Windows\system32\debug.exe
Be sure to back up that original tho ;D

rain_storm: it's XP, iirc debug works just fine there :) This is perfectly legit; I assume he's copying the image on the right (the original .com loaded as .raw just as it's been exported).

iq doesn't lie ;)

switching to 13h was a video edit, too. That 256b is legit; I've seen it before, can't remember who it's by (which is my only complaint, no credit there)

Exactly XP which means the debugger is debug.exe but a com file requires debug.com an older DOS debugger, the two debuggers are in no way compatible.

I aint arguing the fact that the effect was a legit 256b, i've seen that prod many times before, But the video is clearly a hoax debug.exe will not work try it for urself.

Actually, I DID try it on Win7, because I was curious :) And they do work. Tried it with Comatose:

16-bit disassembly :) Keeps going just fine. Just so you know :)

I thought it was a real fun thing, something the demoscene can lack at times.
Wonder what code the  :) would generate.
