Here is a small tecnique I've come up with for single shot 360 degree panoramas.

I used this technique to make 360 reflection maps and HDRImages to light 3d scenes. A friend demonstrated this technique though, I never would have thought of this myself. Well done!

I used chinese stress balls for the reflection (nice and smooth surface), there are balls dedicated to this purpose but they can be quite expensive.

Oh, I might have to get some of the stress balls then.

How did you manage taking the camera out of the picture?

I mostly used it for HDR images to generate the lighting and often left the cam in there. But you can use the clone brush in photoshop to brush it over with neighbouring pixels or you can take 2 pictures from the sides at slightly different angles and copy over the pixels where the camera is.
