Very cool. I love the dubstep wobble bass! :)

What did you use to compose the tune?

Thanks :) It was composed with Reason 6; all synth sounds from scratch except the synth in the beginning, which was some default patch I tweaked. Drum samples came from Vengeance Essential Club Sounds Vol. 1 and Vengeance Essential Electro... the mix was rendered to wav then tweaked in Wavelab with Ozone 4 (for mastering).. I think that's all of it :)

This is one of the better sounding dubstep tracks I've heard. Correct that - one of the greater tracks.

I wasn't keen on the Dubstep genre to begin with, but its growing on me.

There's more variety than the similar sounding techno / house / dance / trance / etc which seem to use the same second of sound to different tunes.

I'll have to start listening to more dubstep to see if I can add more of them to my playlist.

I was totally the same way. Some artists I would recommend to you are:
buku
document one
and some sceners:
Miu (aka Kaktusen of PlayPsyCo)
Gloom of Excess
and even some chiptune guys doing similar stuff:
Electric Children
Sabrepulse

Just a few :)

I don't remember the track that won actually, but it was by Lug00ber (so I'm not surprised it won, hehe)

Excellent job and congrats on 2nd place!
Any prizes, apart from ever lasting fame?

I like all genres but dubstep is a distant favourite of late. My housemate is also always toiling away in Reason trying to get the sound he wants. We both work in our living room and he asked who it was from because he likes it!

Cool little prize actually, rubber ducky's rock! Display it with pride!

Not sure what's their alure exactly, but one of the first things I modelled in 3d was actually exactly the little ducky from the pic. Shame my 3d worktop is being repaired otherwise I'd have slapped on a silver shader and it would've been a perfect virtual replica!

congrats on your 2nd place! your track is really cool. I like your style. It's produced very well and has some good mastering. I'm also about to make some Dub Step sounds, just need the time to produce something ;) family, job .. all of that.  My harddrive is full of unfinished stuff., grrrrr.
cheers,
