Just a question (should perhaps takes its own topic): why didn't you send a mp to all the registered users for the challenge (or the old ones) to participate or vote? There will perhaps have more people for it?!?

It's a good question, and the answer is that we already do this.  We send the notifications out via email to all our members because they get more response than PM's, I'm sure that a lot of them find their way into junk email folders or go nowhere because of bad email addresses though.

Thanks for the votes so far, the entries deserve your votes, but please make sure that you vote for 3.
Some people are voting for less than 3... The reason for the three votes is that it always ensures a fair distribution of 1st 2nd and 3rd places.. If there was just one vote then we'd have a lot more situations where 2nd and 3rd were tied.

Cheers.

Some very nice entries, and my votes are placed.

P.S. I haven't been around much due to other things taking up my time, which means less time to learn coding.... but I'm still around the place.

Well done everyone and thanks so much for entering the comp!  I am embarrassed that I didn't get to enter my own competition!
I had set aside the whole of last Saturday to work on it, but I only got this far (attached) and then I fell asleep and slept nearly all day!

Thanks to Shockwave for stepping in and setting up the voting   Good to have you back mate!

Next time!!

I know this... and I must admit that I'm really often doing this too! Doing nothing the week-end... O0

Totally awesome competition. That was a really good comp theme, Jim. And I think that the quality of the entries is extra-ordinary-good. Of course thanks to Shocky for setting up the votes etc.

Well, thanks for the voting!

I'm just going to award the karma and prizes and then get the showcase updated.
It's been a fantastic challenge, congratulations to everyone who entered, your demos have been as entertaining as ever:)

Special congratulations to;

Raizor for 1st Place.
BlackSheep8Bit for 2nd Place.
Optimus / Padman for 3rd place.

As third place is tied and it's a small amount, I've decided to award both the same prize on this occasion.

Many thanks to Jim for organising this challenge while I've been away dealing with real life stuff, it's much appreciated :)

Cheers :)

Well done all, a good compo indeed :)

I was expecting to get whooped by BlackSheep's intro to be honest, hehe. Thanks to everyone who voted. I will tidy up the source for my entry in the coming days and post it to the forum.

Congratz Raizor, Blacksheep, Padman and Optimus! Excellent demo's, really enjoyed all other entries too!
3rd place was hotly contested, we should've had live commentary on the voting!

So ends yet another fine challenge... We'll meet again next time gentlemen!  :)

You did well :) It's hard to even get on the podium, your 2nd place is well deserved.  Good luck in the next one..

Well done Blacksheep8Bit - Excellent result for the first try.

Brilliant performances from Raizor, Optimus and Padman - marvelous entries all round.

Great work from everybody else - I can't help but feel I'd have had a total of 8 votes, had I combined all 3 of my own entries into 1 sleek demo. Advice which I'll follow next time.

Congrats everyone! Amazing entries all around.

Aside from the winners, of course, a special well done to Kirl for bringing something different to the table.

I wasn't expecting to get anywhere near the 3rd place, that was a nice surprise, thanks to all the voters! :)

I quite liked Raizor's 1st place and I did expect it to win. I am happy to see a demo by a newcomer taking the 2nd place.
Glad that we didn't have to make a revote this time. Wurfel is quite original and with nice music and feeling and I wouldn't like to take his 3rd place with my fastmade effect.

Anyway, there were even more great entries I personally liked and so voting was tough :)

p.s. I say to myself, next time I wish I take more time on a DBF entry with proper music and more design, the votings of this time motivates me to work harder in the future.
