bmax 3dlib
« on: October 02, 2006 »

Here is where my 3dlib made with bmax was at last time I did bmax coding:

http://zac-interactive.dk/temp/bunker.zip

I am looking to get back into coding, and I might start by finishing this lib and make a vectorized bmax demo of sorts. This example isn't much, but it does show an object loaded and there are light shaded polys :)

I forgot to mention what the current features are:

MESH:

create
copy
scale
translate
position
rotate
reverse
fit
color
addVertex
addTriangle
addQuad
vertexCount
polyCount
vertexCoordsSet
vertexCoordsGet
vertexColorSet
vertexColorGet
vertexAlphaSet
vertexAlphaGet
textureSet
textureGet
free
freeAll

Primitives:

loadObject
makeCube
makeFlatCurvedMesh
makeCylinder
makeStellaOctangula
makeSphere
makeTorus
makePeristalis

ENTITY:

create
position
translate
scale
rotate
turn
xGet
yGet
zGet
xSet
ySet
zSet
pitch
yaw
roll
scaleX
scaleY
scaleZ
show
hide
meshGet
meshSet
color
alpha
distance

Almost the same features as my vector lib for blitzbasic. Still not sure if I will be finishing this one, or if I should make something with the completed freebasic graphics library I coded months ago. I will have to think about it, as well as finding motivation to do more than stare at the code :)

Welldone mate, that looks very impressive. And I can't wait to see your next demo with this lib.

Nice one,
Clyde.

Thanks Clyde, one thing that I am looking forward to, is whether or not I can remember how to code bmax effeciently. Its been ages since last time, and all that FreeBasic coding might have screwed with my head, hehe. But we'll see once I get started.

If I remember right at Alan's site theres a Bass Module that he made for BMAX.
It'll be real cool to see a demo from you again dude.

All the best,
Clyde

Zawran,
I emailed you a while back wondering if you were going to port your Blitz3d tutorials to Blitzmax but haven't heard back from you. Any thoughts on this ? http://zac-interactive.dk/tutorials/tutorials.htm

Sorry, I did get the email, just haven't gotten around to answer it yet. I expect that as I get back to coding again, that I could convert some of those to bmax. I can't make any promises, but I will take a look at it in the not so distant future.

Nice object :) I've seen it in one of your other demos too I think?
Anyway, the commands list looks most impressive, be seeing more of the lib soon hopefully!

Yes its an object from one of my vectorized demos. Didn't have a modeling program installed, so I had to use an old one. If things goes as planned, I will be looking at some code for the first time in ages during the coming weekend :)
