Title: Arcade changes.
Post by: Shockwave on February 25, 2007
Just to let you know, some games are going to get the chop from the arcade because they are either shit or broken, however I have got some really nice ones to replace them, including Qix, Manic Miner and some others. :)

This will happen at the end of the month :D

Yip. seems to be a fair conversion too.
The problems are going to be Qix and the fishing game I have found. Both are maddeningly addictive, especially the fishing game. I tested it quicky last night and I don't know how but I lost 4 hours! in fact when I woke up today I had to test it again to make sure it was still working :)

If you know for any broken / crap ones, let me know yes please!

At the moment, the following are scheduled for removal;

Old Mahjong
Arkanoid
Plumber
Amira
Xevious
Airfox
Pool ( not 9 ball or 8 ball )
Ms. Pacman ( Ghost paths are Broken )
Squid Hunter
Copter ( I have a replacement )
Blasterman

I have added a few games today, I have the following and providing they instal ok, I'll be adding;

Manic Miner (Speccy Conversion)
Bobby World (Replacement for Amira)
Harpoon Lagoon (Amazingly addictive fishing game).
3dtris (Tetris in 3D)
Froggster (Even more improved version of frogger)
Qix (Conversion of the old arcade machine)
Alias3 (Cool side scrolling shooter)
Ball Of Madness (Marble Madness clone)

You know, those games are probably out there somewhere, in fact the games we have were taken from a website with nearly 4,000 games. The thing is that when people convert arcade games, they sometim es give them a slightly different name, like they may call Frogger, "Froggit" Or something like that which makes them difficult to track down.

Another thing is getting the damn things to work, there are at least 20 hidden games in the arcade that do not work properly, including one which I am really gutted about.. A brilliant version of Defender.

Out of everything I have seen though, I have not found Chase hq, Space harrier, Outrun, Super hang or afterburner... I'd really love to have Space Harrier in there, I loved that game.

Rest assured, I'll keep on looking for new games :)
