Hi all,
My 1st demo in a loooooong time is nearly complete. I just need to add music.
What format should I use? What library should I use? How do I keep the filesize down? And where can I get some funky tunes?
Looking forward to contributing something to this kicken place.

use .xm format,
use fmod or minifmod in C++, ufmod in FreeBASIC, or bass in any language known to man ;) ,
keep the filesize down by using small samples and,
make you own :D
There are some good songs here (http://www.modarchive.org/) , but it may take awhile to find the one you want.
Some good musicians I like are:
Nork
WillBe
Roly
Thygrion :D
and Irvin .

Roly has a spare 20 second song, you could try to send him a PM :)

If you don't mind to use ripped tunes - here is a little hint. I guess it is hard
to find 20 secs songs in the resource databases like modarchive.com. But if
you like one tune - it may be worth listing to it and to see if there are bits of
20 seconds that could be "stand" for its own.
For example the tune I used is originally about 4 minutes long. But it has so
many breaks in it - that it was easily modifyable to be used as a 20 sec song.
Good luck !

I have to admit to having the same problem :(
Crap music skills myself, I think I'll just be 'fading something down' at 19 seconds :)
-
Thanks for you helps dudes. Roly has kindly supplied me with a 20 sec tune <-- What a champion. I'll post my demo up in a couple of days, all going well.
-
Cool, glad you got your music :) Roly is a really helpful fellow like that. If it's the tune I am thinking of, it's a good one!
-
I have successfully added Rolys awesome tune to my demo, but I won't post it yet. ;) Perfection is a tough goal to reach, the damn thing keeps moving.
-
Thanks. Glad you like the tune.
@GrahamK: If you found a favourite song to use i could make a 20 sec tune of it.
Cheers
