Title: [SEEKING] V2M music resources
Post by: benny! on March 14, 2007
Hi.

Does anyone of you know resource sites like modarchive where you can
download music tracks in the .v2m format ?

Note: The .v2m format is the well known format by kb^farbrausch synth-
system used amongst others in demos like .the product

It's hard to find .v2m songs, few people know about it  :-\

See if you can find something here http://www.buzzmachines.com/

Thanks. I will have a try.

Are there any musicians of this board around who had some experience with v2m ?

fr-V2:Synthesizer is one thing I cant work out how to install. I've found the plug in for winamp, but not the full tool.

@Clyde:

Apart from the fact I didn't run the synthesizer myself - did you already checked the
download on this site :

http://1337haxorz.de/products.html#v2 (http://1337haxorz.de/products.html#v2) ?

Afaik, it only works with buzz, doesn't it ???

Yeah I went there  and not much use. As the site has no documentation / help on getting it running. Only about the plugins and winamp, and a player to use in code. I've no idea what Buzz is; I've a feeling it's one of those expensive music packages.

@Clyde:

No, no ... not at all. Buzz is a free modular software based synthesizer. Have
a look and try it on the official site :

The V2M is not a standalone tool... its just a  Vst Plugin... you can use it with Buzzz or any other Vst supporting audio software... Some people are using it with FruitLoops....

I need to find out how you use a plugin with Buzz, as the installation installs 2 versions, buzz and Jerkova Buzz. Also put the files from the zip into boths directory but could work out how to use / access the synth system.

I reckon I'm a spaz too.  How do you take the Farb plugin and use it with Buzz to play V2M?

Well, unfortunately I do not have Buzz installed on my current machine as I give
up making music  ::)

But here is what I found on the net - it maybe helpful :

Quote
To use the Buzz machine, copy the two files in the "Buzz" folder to Buzz's machine directory

- Using the Buzz machine
------------------------

Like the VST plugin above, also the Buzz machine is multitimbral and there's essentially
only one instance running. That means that the first instance you open will be the "master"
and all others will run as "slave" and run through the output of the "master" machine.
Other than that the machine's pretty normal.

I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the collection? The links is dead. I'd love to get hold of it if anyone can help. Many thanks :)

EDIT: I found some tunes here (http://sky-killers.narod.ru/load/v2m_collector.7z) in the meantime.

Great Benny, thanks a lot :)

Does anyone else get screw-ups with the v2 speech synthesis when playing tracks using the winamp plugin? It seems to skip the last word of each line for me.

Atm I'm working on 3-4 v2m tunes. Using Cubase and the VSTi ... too bad it doesn't support pitch bend :-/

I just came here to say thank you to everyone who shared these great music tracks in .v2m format, the reason for which I registered.

I also figured this topic needs a very well-deserved bump. And lastly, I figured I'd contribute to it myself, as well. Here you can find even more .v2m (and other formats) music:

http://www.keygenmusic.org/?page=allteams

Please note the website above does NOT contain any illegal material or keygens themselves, but only their music ripped off and shared.

There are some absolutely spectacular tracks in this, so please give them a listen. To download all tracks easily from the link above, I recommend the Mozilla FireFox plugin/extension called "DownThemAll".
It's those tracks that better-introduced me to the demoscene, and entirely to the .v2m sound format, which I absolutely love.

Cheers!
