Who's watching online?

The console/wild comps are next.

TBL's Suicide Barbie demo was just about the best thing I have ever seen on a PSP!

the c64 demo and the console/real wild compos were really cool. I expected more from the 64k pc compo :\

Benny!: didn't you know about the live stream by demoscene.tv ? the info was all over pouet.net, breakpoint.untergrund.net, demoscene.tv, ...

I agree, the standard was really high on the consoles.

I wasn't so keen on some of the Amiga demos tonight, though Haujobbs was nice.

Sh*t I felt asleep after the 10th PC demo and missed the best ones :(

I just watched the kkapture of Debris by Farbrausch ... ouch!
Title: Re: Scene Event - DemoParty

It's something else isn't it?

The thing it that I believe that there are more technically accomplised demos, for example Andromedas demo is really good, I'd guess that the code in that demo is more technical than in Debris, but ffs it's amazing, they increase the size limit for submissions and then Farbrausch take the piss out of it with a sub 200kb demo. So there are two things that make it own for me, firstly the tiny size of the demo considering what it does, but more importantly the direction is what makes it a worthy winner.

Honestly I never had the feeling I did when I saw this for years. The last time I felt like that about a demo was when I saw Mental Hangover on the Amiga for the first time.

@p01: No. I really missed it. Was rather busy in the last days. Always wanted to
start a google search on it - but always forgot it. I of course know demoscene.tv
but didn't think to have a look there, either.
Shame on me ;)

Can anyone get the Kakiarts-focus 4b demo to run?  It totally trashes the two PCs I've tried it on (admittedly a laptop and a Vista!).  Not massively impressed by the 4Ks - some nice things, but nothing in this league http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=20967 (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=20967) (Synchroplastikum).  Not that they aren't all brilliantly clever for 4k though!

@Jim:

Tried the standard version - and it runs ok here on my system
(P4 3.2Ghz - GeForce 6800 GT - Windows XP).

Standard runs slow here but it runs :)

windows 2000, radeon 9800 pro ,amd 1.9 ghz

Kaspersky says that all the files in the Synchroplastikum 4kb contain trojans.

I'm used to that kind of shit:D

I'll start my virus scan now, just in case
Title: Re: Scene Event - DemoParty

It's probably nothing but always worth checking. Just in case.

Yup. It's known that some virus checkers alarm executables packed with certain
exe-packers. But check it to be on the safe side - you'll never know ;)

I especially like the C64 demos, and there's even a C64 inspired remake of Dessert Dreams.

took me over two hours to get that demotv link to completely buffer but it was a good watch. is that site normally that slow for downloading? On you tube the buffer fills faster than I can watch it.
Title: Re: Scene Event - DemoParty
Post by: Clyde on April 11, 2007
I'd of guessed there's alot of people online watching it.
I must be a real thicko, as I've yet to see any live BP07 stuff.
Title: Re: Scene Event - DemoParty
Post by: Shockwave on April 11, 2007
There were about 500 people tuned into dtv watching it live, but Clyde the party ended a few days ago now mate.

That'll be why then, thanks for the info. I did see the DTV tour of 2006; that was quite interesting.

One of these days, I'd like to go to one of these parties / even the UK Pub Meets.
