Hehe, SP2 was out ages ago. It might be an iffy device driver and not the software update, as at that point I think that it resets your PC.
-
I going to buy new hard drive with 16MB Buffer( which is good for FAST Loading time)
-
If that were me the whole PC would be in the intesive care unit
-
Sorry to hear about your computer and hoover. :( Never mind, maybe it's time you bought one of the computers you've been talking about lately.
-
->Hotshot. If the drive itself isn't broken, you can almost certainly recover your PC by booting with the original Windows XP disk and running the Repair option.

I am no expert here, but if you cant get windows fixed you could format your hard disk and do a clean install of windows. If you do that remember to back up your documents and stuff first.
I ran my laptop for three and a half years without formatting it until I (cleverly) connected to the internet without a firewall and all the windows patches. Then I got hacked and had to do a format. At the end of the day it turned out to be quite a good thing after all. It wiped off all the crap left around in my registry and elsewhere by old progs and my computer loads and runs faster now.
Are you on the internet Hotshot? If not then I dont really think you need SP2 anyway as its mostly just security stuff and having it installed causes windows to take quite a bit longer loading up.

I havnt got boardband yet but it will come ;) The reason why I install SP 2 is to try out Programming C# to know what all the fuss about as people are raving about them as it seem like Java 3 to me.

I just installed SP2 aswell, and it overwrote my wireless adapter card's drivers, so no more using neighbor's internet at home :(

I dont buy it they wanted you to fork out for a new HD sure they can crash with corrupt sectors being a side effect but that doesnt mean that a reinstall cant fix it, right? I mean you havent been playing with that electro magnetic pulse riffle again have you?
