Guys,
Inspired by Jim and out of respect for Shockwave and Druid and some of the groovy members here (I wont mention names, but you know who you are), I'm offering my entire codebase for 1k and 4k intros for free to any member interested. Some work with GCC and others with VC++ express and its really a dump of my entire code directory with plusses and minuses, so dont expect this to be a free ride but perhaps bits and pieces will help next gen 4k winners.
I'll include code for 3 4ks including "Inferno", and about 16 1ks including the "Matrix Trilogy" 1ks (I was doing 1k shaders long before hitch tried to steal credit for them ;-) and some unfinished stuff too. Inside is also grodfis 1.0 - a competent but buggy synth and grodfis 2.0 based on gm.dls which is unfinished. Some incomplete 1k and 4k work which you are free to plagiarise in any way. There are a couple of bigger things too.
Total size including exes is 34Meg so PM me with your email and Ill send.
I even offer email support for a short time.
Chris
(and yeah you can feel free to ++karma me for this :-)
-
I forgot to mention, the code for my Intor inferno and DBF entries is also in there in various states of decay ;-).
Cya.

Now that's a karmic post.
I'm obviously interrested. Actually I wanted to PM WRT to softSynth.
Who knows this might push back in the arms of C++ ... heck I really shouldn't 1 & 3 months before releasing something :\
Do you spread all this to retire or to take a new start ?
-
Thats very generous Taj I'm interested but I am probably not at a level that would understand the source
-
Well, I know that you'll be getting one email from me :D
Thank you so much, thank you thank you thank you. You have made such a huge contribution to this place in the past and I appreciate what you've done.
I owe you one, in fact I owe you a lot more.

Hi guys I sent to all who requested so far - Benny I dont have a PM from you.
Benny :-) dont get too excited the code is ... hardwired a lot, meaning re-use isnt easy...it wont make you a 4k coder overnight for sure. However, thanks for the karma and comments guys. DBF is a great great place because of you all.
Chris

Oops .. sorry I sent it to your normal email account. I forwarded you the email

PM Sent..
By the way Chris, if hosting it is a problem for you, you could password protect the zip, I can host it for you and you could give the password out to people who pm you?
Thank you again! Such a cool guy, my only regret is I'll probably never meet you to buy you a few beers.
-
Benny, got your PM now :-)
@Chris:
Cool. Think shockys idea with the password protected zip sounds like a good idea.
Definately, if you ever visit Hamburg/Germany make sure to give me a call - I would
like to buy you a couple of beers.
-
Me too me too! Where can I dl?
-
Hi Spitfire :hi: to the forum.
Still waiting for Chris to get in touch about file hosting or providing a download link :) I'm also looking forward to seeing the code.
He did ask in the original post for those interested to send him a personal message so if you want to be sure to have a look, send him a pm and he'll get back to you as soon as he can I'm sure.
-
Shockie, where can I upload? I havent got an FTP I can use. Sorry fro the delay folks, yet again I was sent to the mountains on an integration trip for my company...
-
I just set up some webspace for you to use mate :) I PM'ed the details to you.
-
...Sorry fro the delay folks, yet again I was sent to the mountains on an integration trip for my company...
Np mate. Nice that you are back.
@Shocky:
Thanks for offering webspace so we all can d/l it !!!
-
Mr. Taj, that's very generous, with this you will help a lot the new 1k/4k coders around.
But I prefer your nice tutorials very much
How about a shaders tutorial ? ::)
-
Rbraz,
despite logging on here a bit recently (to give away the code), I'm not doing any more scene stuff, so sorry no tutorial... :-( Glad you liked the others though.
Chris
-
Excellent taj ... endless karma, kisses and embraces to you ;)
That's more than generous ! Stopping scene activity and releasing your
whole sources - that proofs real scene spirit, mate !!! Thanks again a
1000 times !!!
-
Thanks Taj theres quite alot there to go through Im skimming through it right now
-
Good luck, theres loads of stuff, some good some not, I'd start with the releases directory which has the best stuff in it.
Chris
-
thank you
-
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I would really like a look at this. Does anyone know if it's still available to download?
-
Sadly not.

Omg. I still can't believe that I found anything like this... :updance: :updance: :updance:
I'm very new in the 1k/4k scene and I'm going to a party, where's only a 4k compo and I would REALLY like to make a prod in it.
I'm very interested about the tricks that makes even 4k to look so damn awwwwwwsum (loved the ASM'08 4k winner - Nucleophile (http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=51114)).
So, I'll get in touch with you Chris.
*sigh* Still can't believe this... :D You rock Chris! Thanks!
Cheers,
