Title: CLASSIC COMP - Work In Progress.
Post by: Shockwave on April 21, 2007
As suggested by Rbraz, this thread is so that peeps can post what they are converting so we don't get too many dupes!

I am working on this one;

http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=26 (http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=26)

And I've attached a screen shot of what my version looks like so far :P

I plan on remaking this one: http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=586 (http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=586) , but I haven't done anything yet, other than asked Roly to make a kickass remix of the tune. I did not have time this weekend, but the following weekend looks promising, so I will probably do the coding then.

http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=21 (http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=21) (just because I hate seeing a remake of it done in OSDM...)

http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=574 (http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=574)

but i am really very sad , because it uses My OgreMagic which needs modern GFX card and the size of DLL is 1.05MB which is very big compared with your one, so i will just post the Image.

@Druid , really great tune on the last one you are doing, that one by Interpol. I could easily listen to that for an hour. :)

excellent! if you want original gfx, see the source (http://cyberpingui.free.fr/dl.php?id=342) - I fixed this one some years ago.

Ah, great! I should have posted earlier, I just spent 30 mins ripping the original gfx and sound :) Thanks mate, have some Karma (I was still missing the small font and now I have it thanks to you!).

in the original intro, the system font was used! but doesn't work anymore on AGA, so I ripped the system font from rom-mirror and change a little bit original code. (used by Musashi9 for his conversion)

you can found other resources here (http://cyberpingui.free.fr/sources.htm)

Excellent link bbear. Can't figure out why some links ( e.g. Angels intros ) link to
flashtro.com ???
Title: Re: CLASSIC COMP - Work In Progress.
Post by: bbear on April 22, 2007
@benny: it's because these sources aren't "mine", so they stay on flashtro. But I listed them with a link to flashtro. for Angels sources, it was only some fixes.
Last year, all my sources was on Flashtro. Not anymore, for multiple reasons...

This 'un (http://www.flashtro.com/page.php?id=81), me, although it's not going to be pixel perfect, Shockers, so feel free to show me how it's done! Oh man, just ran the flashtro fullscreen and (because it's slower) noticed that the big text scales -- that'll be the next job then...

The music is going to be your biggest problem there Sledge! I tried like crazy but I couldn't rip it! Good luck :)

That's looking very good!

Listen, we always welcome your productions here mate. You can either post them in the forum or upload them to the showcase if you want :) http://dbfinteractive.com/index.php?action=tpmod;dl (http://dbfinteractive.com/index.php?action=tpmod;dl)

If you upload them to the showcase, stick a post into the forum to let us know there's a new release there :)

And there is no limit to the amount of intros you can submit to this comp, also Druid has welcomed them at Intro Inferno so keep uploading them there if you like, he hasn't told me to stop uploading so don't let one comment put you off!

I'll see if I can do anything with it.

<edit, later>
I finally got it to build with VC2005, but it's massive (512Kb at least 200Kb DLL + 200Kb EXE) and tricky to add to your own programs.  Are there any other ones?

the original link: http://sidplay2.sourceforge.net/

else
http://www.sidmusic.org/sidplay/mac/ (the site .org doesn't seems to work, only mac version with source)
based on engines:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sidplay2/
http://psid64.sourceforge.net/
reSID (dead link)

How winamp Oldskool plugin can play all these formats ?!?

resid has been merged with sidplay2 - you need it to build that player.
All the module trackers use libsidplay2, as far as I know.  It just needs kicking in to shape so it can be used with Freebasic and VisualC++.  I'll try to work on it before the end of the comp.  Whatever happens it's still going to be big, and it might be hard to make it a static lib instead of a dll.  Reason being to play back a SID you need a full 6502 CPU emulator to go with the actual sound chip emulator.

Wow ... I think having a SID player to use with VC++ / Freeabasic would be a very cool
thing. Thanks in advance, Jim !!!

great!
not a big problem for the size. make choice between static lib or dll.
