I have seen no entries yet on this great competition so I thought about finishing mine. Well, uses the same effect once again but my initial thought was not about the plasma itself but to try some crossfades with smooth edges between images (it could be polar effect, perlin, or anything else except plasma) and trying it out with a plasma was what first came in my mind.
I have included a download:

p.s. So, is anybody else coding for this competition?

Love it. Plus, you know, JLH. The crossfade is great. Going to be hard to beat that.
-
Hell of a nice idea to crossfade using a plasma :)
There will be some more entries to this competition I am sure Optimus :)

damn cool fx... i love this one very very much! Even it works extreme smooth here! Great work and respect! *thumbs up* K++

yesss... lov it too!
a nice effect ive never seen before!!
:goodpost:

Sweet entry love the idea of applying a plasma effect to transition between bitmap images.
-
Great idea for transition and nicely done.
-
 for this excellent FX. Really rocks - well done!
 for wise chosen images to show the fx ;-)

Pretty cool! Well done!

Ohhh all of those soft curves were really pretty. *cough* the "plasma" of course.
-
great idea!
and of course as always your plasma looks the business

Well done Optimus!
You could use the per-pixel plasma-value not only for alpha-blending but also for some displacement or shading or even use multiple layers...
Somewhat motivates me to try something myself :)

### Illegal Telepathic Plasma Effect ###
Very cool indeed ;D

Hellfire, I would love to see what you'd do if you tried out one of the challenges. :) I have a feeling I'd like what you came up with.

Now that is cool i have never seen that before
