Title: Hi! and a short module
Post by: Jixan on April 22, 2008
Hi, I'm Brad - used to post over at the old Yabasic forums as Demoneye.

I used to love what you guys on the demo scene did both for the creativity and the memories of the Amiga, but never really had much of an aptitude for the coding side, so couldn't really get involved...but I figure there's more than one way to be creative, so I kinda wanna get into writing music mods in that retro kinda style.

Unfortunately that means I have to learn how to use trackers first...

Downloaded MilkyTracker yesterday and spent a few hours messing around, and this is what I came up with - naturally as it's my first tracking attempt it's very rough, so any criticism from more experienced mod writers is very very welcome and appreciated (I mean, there's not even any effects on it or anything yet and the samples are pretty awful...)

Hi Brad :) Welcome back mate.

The sound has a very similar style to late 1980's Amiga songs :) Good one for a firsty!

Aye, PC died on Wednesday morning but it's back up and running now *phew*.

Cheers for the responses guys, busy working on a new tune now, and reading tutorials on more complex effects and sample manipulation and stuff.

Well, right now, I'm busy going to bed, but that's what I WAS doing 10 minutes ago.   ;)

(Oh, and hi Jim! :D)
