Phew..
This is my first attempt to make a raytracer.
It's not optimized. It has few bugs.
There is a plane, a sphere with perlin noise and simple lighting based on normal (no lighting models with specular and stuff yet).
I really like how it looks! Glad to have finished this one in time..

Neat love to see raytracing entries it runs smooth too only when the sphere takes up the entire screen it slows a little here on my Celeron D
-
Nice!
I'm wondering what those numbers in the console mean...
Are you precalculating a texture or do you do the perlin per ray?
The sphere instantly reminded me of this btw: :)

nice to see some textured raytracing :) great!
-
Excellent entry. Doesnt look like a common raytrace scene!
Smooth movement!
-
The number is the frame rate.
The perlin is calculated realtime for each ray that hits the sphere.

Nice one Optimus :)
-
That looks Nice!
Almost looks like it's 3D rendered! :)
-
It would be really cool if you could get one level of reflection in there (from the ground to the sphere), that would make the sphere look really glassy. Good work!

This ran smooth and was a unique approach to the boring sphere on a checkerboard theme. Looks classy!

not running totally smooth here, but great anyway! you really seem to like XOR patters :>
