42k demo, some dungeon stuff and some giana stuff.
Combines 2d and 3d.
Renders everything in 128x64.
Credits to Stormbringer for his cool .sid lib. I love it.
It wasn't easy to get things look good at this resolution!
Had to draw pixels always very close to the view in each scene.
Should work on xp, vista.
UPDATE:
Shocky suggested it might help, if I would use the nearest filtering instead, so I did.
The version 2 with nearest gfx is below the original one to download.
Hope that makes it more legal/acceptable to the kompo.

Wow ... that's an awesome show. Great pixelized
resolution. Looks great. And there is so much in it -
cool 3D dungeon, plasma, giana sisters and and and...
Great production - runs smooth here !!!
-
thx man. cool to know it runs :P
-
I really enjoyed the show!
It looks really excellent, you've put a lot of work and content into this. The sound really suited it well too. Going to watch again now ;)
-
Looks pretty cool here.
Windows Vista, ATi Radeon Xpress 1100.
-
What Shockwave said!
This will be a hard competition for sure :kewl:
-
Great stuff!
-
Praecor, please check your PM's, there is a small problem with this intro that puts it outside the rules, it will be easy to fix!
This has to be done before the deadline, thanks!
-
Yep. I was kinda afraid of that Shocky, and it's perfectly okay if it doesn't reach the kompo for these reasons.
Letsee if I find the motivation to open compiler and repair stuff for it today. (Probably not)
I am working with other demo + game stuff so sorta busy.
As the name says i'm trying to still maintain "low-strez" here ;)
Anyway it was great deal of fun to make.
Thanks to all you guys rbz, benny!, Shocky, Pixel_Outlaw, AnimalMother.
You are that what makes demos great!
This is gonna be a cool kompo to vote, so many awesome entries out there.
-
That's a shame, as a standalone piece, it's marvellous. It just looks like quite a lot of work to make it squeeze into the guidelines :(
-
Yep, I really enjoyed that but I understand why it doesn't fit the rules (grid resolution might be right, but when filtered on the 3d card, it's not true low res anymore (also the plasma, in the way the colors are interpolated, you think it's a pixel effect))
-
Thanks for the kind words Xalthorn. I also like all the entries you pulled off for the kompo. Pure quality.
-
You're welcome, and thank you.
Your piece really is stunning and feature filled, and I love the way the treasure shows the credits :)
-
V2 is fully legal and compliant :)
Thanks for fixing it Praecor, it would have felt wrong not to have this in the voting!
-
Sweet! :updance:
And shocky is right, it would have felt wrong not to have this in the voting. I'm pleased you made the time to fix it :D
-
Brilliant stuff Praecor i love this one well done mate.
-
Wow! A new version that goes well with the rules just before the deadline. I am happy to see that!
-
Thanks for fixing it, great demo!
Jim
-
The new version is really MUCH more compliant, well done!
-
Thx all, again.
