Again, one that won't be in the voting but here is is anyway :)
Remade: by Shockwave
Original Code : Ringo Starr
Musician: Dezecrator
-
Yeah - this is very cool. And the scrolltext contains pure
oldschoolish text. Was fun to read.
Entertaining remake - thanks shocky!
-
Cheers Benny :)
There were a few other variations of this with different vectors and songs, I'll work on them too :)
-
The tune is fantastic!
and wars between Classhit & Zeldick and Faglight were really funny :D
Excellent 1:1 remake
-
Didn't Fairlight publish Zelniks phone number in a cracktro? :)
-
uhuh really nice :p didn't know the original but whatever :p
Just a point, the mouse used to select trainer options is a bit weird for me. I don't see any cursor and sometimes, I need to get my mouse out of the screen and let it get in from the upside of the screen to be able to change the current option. (Maybe it was also like it in the original, I don't know :p )
-
The original is the same, I reproduced it faithfully, warts and all :)
-
My bad ;D
-
I released 2 other variations of it yesterday too :)
The intro changed a little and both these variants have different music :)
-
I like the version 1 best. Nice work here. Love the vector object in the background. ;)
-
Version 1 rocks.
Version 2 crashes - guess because of fullscreen :-(
(of course the real problem is my shitty laptop)
-
Thats strange benny. It shouldnt have done that. what point did it crash?
Was the screen open?
-
runs fine on my Vista mochine very nice
-
Nice to know it worked there , thanks Ghost :)
-

Yes, screens opens and then immediately crash. No error message and nothing on
the screen at all.
Maybe you can provide a windowed version for that, too ?
-
There is a windowed version. The file should prompt you to choose full screen or windowed?

Strange - you are right. Maybe I was too drunk when I tested it the first
time ???
/me is a little bit scared now
-
Don't worry, be happy :)
-
That is Classic 8) Nice Music by the way :)
-
That's cute, the invisible mouse is odd, but at least it doesn't interfere with viewing the demo.
-
Only just got round to viewing this one and it was well worth the wait.
Just a shame i can't vote for this.Excellant
-
Ur too kind :)
-
All 3 work smooth. Perfect.
I find that invisible mouse-cursor thingy natural.
Good remakes, man !!

Right

Damn Benny I like this your p1ngpong 1k game :) I remember once wroting a 4k game, it was very fun to do. Much funnier than any unlimited size games.
-
@Praecor:
Thanks. Glad you like it. And yes - it's kind of funny to implement
some game logic in only a small amount of bytes.
What was your 4k game ? Did you release it ?
Btw. Rbz did one cool 1k game, too. Really fun to play IMHO. Have
a look at it here:

Yeah wells... i think i have written some, but that 4k game which comes to the mind, it was probably
around 2002 etc and it was called "dotprodukt 4096". It was totally gdi-based very simple graphics, used just some
winapi gdi calls, pens, brushes, bitblt, but the idea was kinda nice & addictive,
the game generated a random puzzle for you each round (there was 3 different difficulty-levels).
You had to drag your player over the generated puzzle-hotspots (like Connect the Dots) in the correct order, if you
screwed up and chose a wrong hotspot you'd lose the precious time. Sometimes the puzzle
was generated badass way and had some very tight-hotspots so it was hard.
The game itself was totally about how fast you could solve the puzzle and find your way
through + having a good mouse hand. It kept some highscore-datafile for the achieved records aswell.
Many games on DS with stylus are this kinda where you drag stuff around on your screen!
I don't know where it is anymore, probably some my hd's, but its not on the internet.
IIRC there was no music in this game. I probably run out of bytes because I wasn't prepared initially well enough etc or soemthing, therefore got no music :b (cant remember)
EDIT : ok, I'll check that Rbz's game, thanks, it looks interesting :) I'll also play your game more, mate

@Praecor:
Your game sounds interesting, too. And using GDI only can be
also very challenging ;-)
