:hi: Thawn dude great to have you aboard.
I'll have a look out for you dude a bit later mate. Perhaps some of the other guys have a bit more of an idea.
I just thought maybe the latest Windows Media Player 10 can burn DVDs. Or maybe in fact convert the formats.
Cheers,
Clyde.

Ah, sorry Thrawn.
I don't know much about burning dvd's, we usually buy most of ours when they are on offer, Mel's brother is well into internet conspiricy stuff mind and he always brings a load of self made DVD's when he comes to visit.
We had to buy a DVD player with Divx compatibility in order to play them, I don't know whether or not that's a help but this dvd player will play just about anything including mpegs and it wasn't too expensive either.
I've tried a little test with the PC and I burned my own disk with Nero and it seems to work fine.
I would think that if you have the right dvd player you should be able to use windows to do it as Clyde suggested. In the meantime I'll ask Mel's brother when I get the chance to speak to him next. He burns a lot of stuff so he's bound to know.

The above links will tell you everything you need to know about burning and ripping of dvd's , vcd's , svcd's , avi , xbids and also
has links to freeware or trial s/w.
Ive used these sites for years and managed to convert vcd;s to dvd with menus chapters and even adding more than 1 movie to a dvd. and all fully useable in a standard dvd player

Cheers Codeman!

Also, everything you could dream of at http://www.doom9.org/
To get from wmv to dvd you need to convert to mpeg2 first, and then roll the mpg up into a dvd.
