This is a type of positional sound effect. It is extreamly good. Just make sure you have a set of headphones or this will not work. Also make sure that you don't have any other sounds.
You will hear the barber come in, open a drawer cut your hair close a drawer or put his scissors down then start blowdrying which is really really fun. Make sure you have your volume up and headphones on for best effect. It works for some people better than others.

Sounds like this can be done with the sound Pan settings in Flash.
