Title: 7dRL Challenge
Post by: rdc on March 09, 2009
I thought I would post this since we all like challenges here. :) The 7 Day Roguelike challenge started this past weekend and so far there are about 40 RLs in development. You can grab the skinny at:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.roguelike.development/topics

I am working on my own little game which you can follow here: http://rickclark58.spaces.live.com/blog/

I thought this was relevant since most of these are ascii based and may provide some ideas for ascii demos. If this is out of scope here, just delete the post if needed.

Not that I am interested to join the competition (I am working on the
Time comp here) - but just out of curiosity - what is the comp about ?
I had a quick look at the links - where is the subject/topic and the
rules described ?

Sorry, maybe I didn't look right ?  ???

It is quite simple: Just build a playable roguelike in 7 days. Here (http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php?title=7DRL) is the info from RogueBasin.

Sounds pretty cool!

I've only played NetHack, Shiren the Wanderer, Azure Dreams and Nightmare of Druaga. ;)

It might be cool to make one but since I don't know the genre well I would probably do something wrong.
