Title: WinUae
Post by: Clyde on June 04, 2009
Hi Emu fans,

I've just installed the latest version of WinAue, and have the neccassary kickstart Roms.

And I have a few questions, as im having some problems with it.

1 - Does anybody have a fully working version in either dms or adf of Red Sector Inc's Mega Demo, as I can only view upto the 2nd part with the copper scroller with syncing heads. Have tried searching, Zophar's Roms and of course my first point of call pouet / scene org.

2 - How to setup a Hard Drive for running programs on. As I was at a car boot sale and got my hands on some cool miggy stuff, including Blitz V2 sadly no manuals ( if there were any )

3 - Does anybody know what is the ideal configurations are for running OCS, ECS and AGA stuff?

Thanks,
Clyde.

Which roms do you have?
Sounds like a compatibility version that can be sorted out with the right rom and configuration.

Again, what roms do you have? I will post some configurations you can use then.

My guess for RSI demo would be KS1.3, OCS, 512Kb Chip, 512Kb FastMem.  Also set disk speed to Normal, if that setting still exists.

Setting up an hd is easy - you can just point the UI at a folder on you PC hard disk.

If you need the KS1.3 Rom PM me and I can show you a few places you could look.

Thanks fellas, Jim that config did the same as usual for me.

I have all of the roms available for the various miggy's.

I've tried different configurations, and I think the problem is due to the versions of RSI MegaDemo adf and dms, as a few posts at different forums / pouet, say about it saving data to the floppies.

If you have the RSI megademo, can you watch the whole caboodle? If yes, where did you get it from and what config too please?

For setting up a Hard Drive it's got different options in the latest version. Also do I need workbench?

Thanks for your time,
Clyde.

Without workbench you won't get a window desktop, but you don't *need* it.  I'd set up an AGA with KS3 and loads of RAM and a hires workbench desktop too, that's your 'productivity' Amiga.  Then there's the stock setup I gave you in the last post which is the standard 'gamer' Amiga.

Boo again :)

Do any of you have the latest winaue?

Just asking, as im not having much joy with it. RSI Mega Demo still crashes on the loading / decrunch after the multi copper scroller part.

I've all the neccassary (KS) Roms.

Ta,
Clyde.
