Hey guys,
Alot of you probably remember my old 3D OVERLOAD demo from the old DBF board. Well, looking through my HD I found the demo along with the source! And seeing as I don't really use blitz anymore, I've decided to re-release the demo AND the source here :)
Hope you still like it. I did it when I was 13 and it features alot of effects that hadn't been done before in Blitz Basic 2D (No B+ or B3D) and unfortunately haven't been done since!

I remember that demo well Jake :)
It's great to see it again after these last few years and it's very kind of you to post your source code too, you learned a lot of things very young, quite remarkable really.

Thanks :D
BTW there's a line in 3DOverload.bb which says something like "Cleardir "data"" or something...comment that out and the data folder will be preserved :)

Nice!.. thanks..

Geez thats really insane for a 13 year old. What kind of math do they teah at your school??

Jake was a really fast learner I guess!

Heh they didn't teach anything advanced (just a normal US school)... but i spent all my time in my classes drawing diagrams and working out vector routines for lighting etc :) Passion I guess.

Nice production indeed!

Doesn't seem to work on Vista. To bad, I wanted to see it.

The windowed version works fine on my Vista setup, so you might want to try that one instead.
-
That did the trick. Nice one!

I remember this fondly the first time around, also remember your early handle / group name too.
Since updating to the latest B3D patch i can no longer watch anything 320x240 in full screen mode.
it is awesome work, i like how you've worked out the U and V's from milkshape asc format, just based on the verts.
my favourites are the infamous teapot and the nodding head.
Cheers,
Clyde.

The one thing I wish I knew back then was delta timing. On my old 400mhz the nodding head was synced to the music, but I wish it could've been so on every machine!
-
I too still remember this one, it was a nice work indeed :)
-
Ferris dude, why not make this version 2 and add in your delta timing.
If you dont have the relevant Blitz anymore I'd be more than happy to compile the source into an exe for you if you want me too.
Cheers,
Clyde.

clyde: I really appreciate it :) But I just can't get myself to mess with this code any more than commenting out lines here and there.
