Ok, guys, as threatened, here's some more ST Remakes. ;D This time it's dbug menu disks 15 a/b. The menu codes were used on a couple of disks, I just chose these specific ones because I like the music. Again, the Original ST versions are included in the ZIP.
Some facts:
Release Year: 1991
Menu code: Cyrano Jones
Menu gfx: Xerud
Menu music: Leavin Teramis / Jochen Hippel
As always, feedback is welcome! As is adding at RR :) Enjoy!
Bye,
Pad

I am going to check these out as soon as I finish this style sheet I am hacking together for the portal.... Looking forward to it too.

Weldone Padman! :)
really reminds me of the good old days, with those good old fashioned hand pixeled bitmap character sets and tunes :)
-
Great remakes padman the old ST TUNES just sound so good again please keep it up m8
-
Thx guys!
-
They are both added to RR now, really sorry for the delay :)
Great work on them too, I really love them, especially the one with the 3D stars.
-
Thanks a lot! :kewl: And don't be sorry, I know you got more important things to do these days! ;)

I know you got more important things to do these days!
There is nothing more important to me than seeing the new posts on the forum, especially when they have nice attachments like yours did :) Hopefully the site will be fixed up by the end of October and things can return to normal.
-
good ones. Love D-BUG (A) version!
-
Thx Benny! :) Yeah, I only did 15b so 15a doesn't feel so lonely. It's not exactly spectacular. ;D
In the attachment to this post is a "test version" for Stormbringer with a different screen resolution, since the versions above don't work for him. It's Dbug 71a. I wasn't actually gonna post this since it's similar to 15b. If you are curious you can still have a look though. It has a nice tune. ;)
@Stormbringer: Hope this one works for you! Then it'll be only that my program doesn't like your gfx card in 800x600x32 or vice versa. If this doesn't work either, I'll dig deeper and get this bugger to work!
-
@padman: sorry mate, still the same "Cannot open screen" error. It must be a small thing because your first remake worked fine for me. Are you using OpenGL or DirectX? or GDI?
Feel free to send me any version you would like me to test
-
Hmm, it's directX. I'll have a closer look at the sourcecode again. That must really be some tiny thing that causes it. Stupid piece of turd... ???
-
could it be some DirectX thing that I do not have? what version are you using? I essentially work with OpenGL so I do not always have the latest DX DLLs....
-
It uses DirectX 7 as sub system. I bet you have all necessary files, since there isn't anything special in it that I didn't use in the Wildboys remake as well. But i guess it's some weird DirectX incompatibility, too. The prob is, the open screen function only returns 0 if it fails without any further information.
EDIT: test files removed

dbug15b_t1.exe works very fine now! congratulations
dbug15b_t2.exe runs too fast (timer problem?)
-
Yay! Yeah dbug15b_t2 has no timing at all. Forget it! ;D Must have been a problem with the sprite initialisation then. I only put the error handling of the openscreen function a few rows up in the source code and that solves the problem. Actually that shouldn't matter. (Since it works fine on so many computers including my antique laptop from 1999 with Win98). I'm glad we got it working now. I will add a fixed Dbug15a.exe later on plus 2 windowed versions.
Have a nice one!
Pad
Edit: Just saw at RR 15a works fine now too?? Umm I didnt change anything there yet. If that's so, dude you should reboot your computer more often! :D
Edit 2: Windowed versions attached to main post.
-
Indeed ... the version dbug71a has a cool tune which brings you
in a funny mood!
-
Nice work padman, works fine here
-
@ benny: yeah it's funky, innit? (that being a rhetorical question :D) :||
@ rbz: thx man! :kewl:
