Title: Collatz Conjecture

Saw this on another forum:

I find it interesting that for such a simple mechanic, the mathematicians haven't been able to come up a proof for this yet. That is, whether all numbers will eventually reach 1.

Nowhere near as difficult a problem as the Reimann Hypothesis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riemann_hypothesis) which is still on
Hilberts list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilbert%27s_problems) of problems in mathematics. No one expects this one to be disproved either since it holds true in all cases tested so far.
