Hi guys!
Here you have my entry for the Halloween compo. It's not a game, it's more a tribute to the oldschool mega demos i loved to watch on the ST, where you could wander around and enter different demo screens by using different doors. I had huge plans for the screens but time wasn't exactly on my side creating this. I'm still happy how far I got. I'm releasing it now, so I can concentrate on my real work again. (and because my gf is fed up with me sitting in front of it all the time ;D)
Code: Padman
GFX: Ripped from several games, see the scroller for details.
Music : Chris Link
Have fun! (and get spooked, like umm boo! and stuff :D)
Pad :)

Oh man the dancing skeleton really made me laugh m8
Well done with this m8.

I really like the idea of using ST demos as inspiration for this, the screens were great too.
Good fun overall, thanks Padman it held my interest, great one.
-
Thanks for the nice feedback guys! I'm glad you like it :)
-
That was fantastic! The strange face is eerie as hell! Is there any way of reaching the top of the mansion though?
-
Thanks mate :)
Is there any way of reaching the top of the mansion though?
No. Actually I had plans (I had a lotta plans, but not enough sparetime :D) for some secret steps that lead to the top but dropped them due to the fact that there's no roof tiles. The top is chopped off in the original game, too. I tried to redraw the roof myself but it looked like shite...

That's totally awesome, man! I love that piece of work.
The "rooms" are a very cool idea and they are very well
done. Had a good laugh at the "Dance room", too!
It fits perfectly to the Halloween theme and creates a
good Halloween mood. All the GFX and sounds are well
chosen. Very good work.
One little thing, the rotozoomer does not seem to rotate
the image all the 360degrees, is it right?
Anyway, I really love that piece!

First of all thanks dude! :kewl:

Very cute, I enjoyed that :)
-
In this case cute means shpooky as hell, right? ;) Thanks!

Dancing skellington is great, as is the rest of it. Well done!

Nice demo - looks like 4 or 5 demos in one.
I couldn't get to the sparkly bit at the top of the tree - my old laptop might be making the controls lag a bit, but I do like the skeleton and the overall graphical feel.
-
Thx Jim and ck0! Makes me really happy that so many people like it :)
@ck0: you only missed out the rotozoom screen benny was complaining (;)) about earlier. As long as you saw the dancing skeleton (my personal favorite too) everything's fine. Maybe you should try to climb that tree again though, it even works on my stone old laptop from 1999 ;D

@padman:
Nevermind. I know that twiddling around with parameters
of effects and how hard it is to figure out which setting
looks bet. Your demo is intro, so is the rotozoomer part.
-
Really cool and funny. Lots of effort on different parts!!
-
Thx Praecor! :)
-
Great work, very cool 16 bits atmosphere!
The dance room was really nice :kewl:

Wow, I like this one. Those game menus of Atari with demo parts you have to find. Cool!
My only complain, jump works quite weird, many times I press it and it doesn't jump at some places.
